In short, I like this deal a lot. If this size and style bike is right for you, it is a good one to get into the E-bike world.
Observations:
I know nothing about TurboAnt. I think all these E-mobility companies are young startups, so it is difficult to track their quality records...but....
From the photos, this bike appears to be as vanilla/generic as can be. This is a good thing because it means everything can be replaced/upgraded/repaired by a general experienced bike guy or bike shop. In comparison, many other E-bikes will have batteries that fit only that particular frame, or the crank is custom, etc.
The battery capacity is pretty good. You should be able to go almost 30 miles with throttle alone. (standard exception: you only ride up hills, ride in sand, or is really heavy)
Opinion:
I think if you are in the 90% percentile in size, and are in the market for a simple E-bike, and doesn't need flash/bling, this is a better deal than to try to convert a used bike with a kit+battery.
I think this deal is very comparable with the recent $400 Walmart E-bike deal. In that deal, the negative points are: physical fitment, lower power, and questionable Walmart assembly quality. The positive point is the price and the nice feeling knowing that if you don't like it, just drop it off at the local Walmart store.

At a minimum the company should identify what brand of 18650 cells it uses.
The more battery specs the better
"We would like to share with you that the brand of the motor is Xiongfeng and the brand of the battery is Lishen, which is also a certified brand."
I do think the new SlickDeals today for the TurboAnt fat tire model for $999 is worth a look. It has many features I like that are absent on the Ranger. But as a first eBike, I am very comfortable with my current choice.

Do you like locking up your $3k tri-bike at the grocery store?
I do know people that own them, but only because they're bicycle enthusiasts. I suppose it makes sense in terms of traffic congested areas where it takes substantial time just to move a couple miles.
Very often they are faster to get somewhere than by car.
They are certainly easier to find parking for than a car.
You can ride an ebike on dedicated bike paths where cars can't go. You can still ride them on all the roads too (sans interstates).
You don't have to be a regular bike rider to go 30+ miles easily.
You can choose not to sweat on a hot day.
You can carry more cargo without getting slowed down.
The utility of an ebike is nearly endless.
My wife is not a regular rider (and doesn't want to be) but can now keep up with me on my regular bike on steeper hills without feeling like throwing up. Her words exactly: Its a game changer
Basically you end up with a heavy regular bike and a little bit of drag on the drivetrain.
I often ride mine turned off on mild uphills, flats, and downhill. My bike weighs about 52#
My battery would provide 50-60mi for a person constantly in eco or tour mode. The way I ride it should yield me over 100mi range. Admittedly, I've not actually taken it to 100 yet...maybe 60....with significant juice left.
The faster one rides, the more wind resistance though. If you end up using assist to keep you going 20+mph, your range will dump under its rating.
