Actually, I picked up that Skil ($250), this Metabo HPT ($350), and a 7485 ($300). It was obvious that the extra cost of the Dewalt over the Skil went into the fit and finish + more metal. But at least with the Skil, it's a bigger table, a 10" blade, and integrated legs - cheaper, but has its advantages over the 7485. I have pretty positive feelings about the Skil TS6307.

I was disappointed with the Metabo HPT saw. The saw itself seemed equivalent to the Skil in terms of quality, so from my perspective, the Metabo HPT is more expensive because you're paying for the rolling stand and not necessarily a better built saw. For me, I didn't care too much to have a rolling stand. By the way, my cordless tools are Metabo HPT so I was expecting better.

I ended up keeping the Dewalt because I didn't need the bigger table or 10" blade. But what's suitable for you/everyone else really just depends on your needs.
The only thing the dewalt had goin for it for a long time was the rack and pinion fence. That isnt the case anymore. I have owned this particular table saw for over a year now, but ive used both as my brother has the dewalt. I can tell you there is no downside to this saw in contrast to the dewalt. The fence is on par, both can take a dado, both are just as stable. Cut the yellow fan boy shit. This is a great deal on a great saw.

For anybody reading this: great deal on a great saw you wont regret.
Given that you said this is no better than the skil that was $100 less, yes you did imply it isn't a good deal.

And what's up with the aggression? Geez. Someone with experience corrected you, big deal. Get over it.

Uh huh. I don't even have it yet and I'm already regretting purchasing the little Skil table saw on Black Friday. 😖

With all of the plastic on this thing, you shouldn't regret a $100 cheaper deal. Neither is a Dewalt but I doubt the quality of this Metabo is any better than the Skil.
I hear ya. But the Metabo has a better warranty, better stand, more power, larger table with larger left and right rip capacity, more expansion options, etc, etc. I have A Metabo sliding miter saw, 5" angle grinder, router, and air compressor, and have been satisfied with them all. Of course YMMV.

I own a Hitachi/Metabo circ saw, recipricating saw, 2 different miter saws and have been very satisfied. Best saws *for the price*, hands down.

Amazon also has it for the same price ($349)

How does this compare to the Skil table saw that was on sale last week? Worth $100 upgrade?

I haven't had to deal with the warranty for a while so things could have changed but I own a dual bevel hitachi miter saw and the laser went bad. I paid $230 for it on sale and with the 5 year warranty I thought no big deal call support get the part. I call and they won't send the part I have to send the saw to Atlanta from Ohio and pay $60 to ship it there. I can't remember if I had to pay return as well but I won't buy hitachi ever again for that reason. I can get others serviced locally or parts and I was just severely let down by their warranty.

Got it a few years ago on a BF deal. I'm a woodworker and DIYer and it's been just fine for me. I got this one most specifically for the cut capacity, it's like 35" and I wanted it to break down plywood. It's still easier to do that with a circ saw so, I don't actually use the capacity. Between this and the DeWalt I'd probably go DeWalt because a lot of YouTube etc have it so you'll find more resources for it.

Not a bad deal. Still rocking the Kobalt jobsite one I got a few years ago for < $200. Gets the job done. Has its issue, but again, for the price and how often I use it, can't be beat.

If you will be using this daily, perhaps look elsewhere. Couple of projects a year? Should get the job done.

i bought this when it was still "hitachi" about 2 years ago and it's been great along with the hitachi miter saw. have used both a lot in reno projects/flooring.

i believe the early models (3+ years ago) may have had a bad soft start switch that led to a lot of bad reviews but it looks like they did remedy that.

Bought this a few years ago at this price. Great table saw for a home woodworker. I love it. I can't speak to hyperaccuracy because my projects don't require that.

This is an amazing saw. I've had one for about a year. Excellent price for a highly rated table saw. This review sold me when I was in the market:

I think this is the only other brand besides Dewalt to have rack and pinion fence. It's a game changer and a must have. I don't get why other manufactures haven't copied this fence design yet.
