looked at that too. basically the Aero. the ~$700 Aero version has AMD 5800U which reportedly is a bit slower than the 11th i7- the i7 model is $999. build quality on the envy line is supposed to be better.
edit- that 5800U Aero is no longer available online (at least as of yesterday)

Silver-colored keyboard, Privacy screen are some issues noted for this Laptop, Otherwise a solid deal.
Don't know who in HP decided to put white keys!! It's an insult to the buyers when they sell that keyboard without a backlight in sub $500 laptops which they did this year.

Was able to grab the Pavilion before it went out of stock (again) but now I am wondering if this Envy is worth the extra $100? I asked this on the other thread too.
I don't know that much tech stuff but I'm seeing slower RAM, bigger battery, bigger hard drive, light colored vs dark colored keyboard. Thanx for any help.

I was on the same boat, but decided to keep the HP Pavilion. HP Envy line is a higher tier than Pavilion line, so build quality is supposed to be better. Along with the bigger battery and higher storage, this laptop also has a Thunderbolt port, microSD port and touchscreen. If those are important for you then this is definitely a good deal. I stuck with the HP Pavilion 13.3 deal because I really really really wanted a 16:10 screen ratio than the 16:9 ratio of this laptop.

I wish it had the 360 2-in-1 function but otherwise it looks good.
