I have this one and my brother in law is 325. He floats just fine in it. no issues. It's a really great kayak.

It can't be done "cheap", but it can be done "cheaper". We own four kayaks, two of which are fishing kayaks (although most of my fishing is actually taking my daughter, so we're in the "non-fishing" tandem kayak more than the fishing ones!). For them, I've bought 4x$40 paddles, 4x $40 paddling life jackets, 2x $15 milk crates w/zip tied lid, 2x $15 anchors w/paracord and a diy pvc/pool float "buoy", a couple old mayo jars with holes poked in them for a bait bucket (shrimp mostly). I use fishing gear I already had, except I added a pair of fish grippers instead of the net I use from land. In all, other than the yaks themselves, I've spent only about $400. We use them on a local creek or our river in mild whitewater and take them camping where I fish, so we get a good bit of use out of the kayaks and the gear.

When I bought mine they had 2 in stock. Both had been blown over outside and scuffed up some. One actually had hole punctured through it from the stand it was on. I asked for 20% off and they agreed.

Ok, yeah unfortunately then, it seems these kayaks get scuffed up at the store. One of mine had water inside, apparently the area had torrential rains prior to me picking up. We had to drain it before loading.

Smart thinking about the damage discount, I should have been more on the ball and tried that due to the dent.

I ordered a different kayak from the in store kiosk at the register last week and didn't have to pay freight. It will be shipped to the store.
