Great deal if you don't do a lot of gaming/very light games and don't need a ton of portability (thought it does have type C charge and great battery life)

This is the laptop for you!

I would avoid any laptop purchases, as the new 12th Generation CPUs will be released soon.

True, but those won't be on sale?

I was just about to mention that, but could take a few months before out to consumers

Lenovo website says it has Thunderbolt 4 but the picture of the Type C slot doesn't show the symbol. Anyone know?

Wonder how this will do against my 45w 3060 in the inspiron 16 plus. I know the 3060 will be faster but by how much... (still in the return window).

Aluminum top/bottom, 500 nits IPS display, 2 TB 4 ports with 1 supporting PD, has a lot of ports in the back.

Might have to pick one up for myself. I have their IdeaPad 5 14" with 4700U. Nice build, but I could use a brighter/bigger display and more ports.

Here we go getting to the good stuff with new Alder Lake laptops right around the corner but the 3050 just kills it. That is a worse than terrible gpu.

3060 would have made it a good deal like last year's 2060s that were around $799-$899.

Thanks! Thunderbolt is a must cause I have an eGPU I can use it with. Very tempting for that use.

The 3060 version is $200 more so would be $1200 if it were on sale. A 3050 is fine if you play games like Wasteland 3, XCom 2 etc, and if you want to play the graphic intensive stuff at 1600p a mobile 3060 still isn't great. 3070 is the way to go.

Is the 3050 really that bad? I only play league of legends and code, 16GB ram might be sufficient. If this was a good deal, how much should it be on sale for?

I'd buy that one if it's $100 more, though it's odd that it loses Wi-Fi 6 if I'm reading the specs right.
