Definitely worth it. The $5 monthly reward can be used twice (YMMV), once in store and again online (take a screenshot of it before using in store and use it online as "promo code" quickly). The 10k points can be used in store or online, just make sure to pick the right one.

Greatly appreciate your insight & reply. Could be that the system allows ppl to buy another year & get the points 1 time every month or so & also get the +10k. Just not with the same time or same week & get the +10k.

I was initially skeptical of this new rewards system but after I learned you can buy digital credit at the store, it became one if the best rewards programs ever (paid of course). It's literally free $45 extra a year (this is minus the $15 it costs) and it's even cheaper in this promo….I get my eShop credit every month!

Thanks, hope so. I went in store & clicked on redeem on the GS app. The app explicitly shows the words "Free... RENEWAL", so it better. I took a screenshot, so if I don't get them points, I got screenshot proof. Here it is for everyone (I cut off the bottom that shows my coupon info)

you can only buy the eshop codes in store.
You can get a $10 physical card if they have in stock on their wall of gift cards or ask for it printed on a receipt
