Definitely worth it. The $5 monthly reward can be used twice (YMMV), once in store and again online (take a screenshot of it before using in store and use it online as "promo code" quickly). The 10k points can be used in store or online, just make sure to pick the right one.
So can you just buy $5 worth of gift cards each month? Seems like a decent deal you get $70 worth of stuff for $10.
Easiest thing to buy is $5 game credit like Nintendo eShop; they can print that small an amount on the register.

Hi. I need advice, I have an older Xbox one s 500gb id like to trade in for maximum value and ultimately purchase a switch. Should I join this for the insider credit boost? How long does that store credit last? Should I trade in controllers as well? Sell privately? Can I buy $5 gc monthly and stack after a bit?
100% worth it - if you decide to trade into gamestop. You will get 10% more value for cash and store credit for trades with a xbox you will easily get an extra $15 at a minimum.... The $5 credit is nice if you buy a game a month - I use it to buy the lastest and greatest games 2 years after the fact. For example, I got sniper ghost warrior contracts yesterday (4 - 5 = -1 = free) and cod ww2 for $2 (7 - 5 = 2) last month.

Right now Xbox One S will get you $220 trade in credit or $176 cash if you are a pro member. Trade in credit never expires. Controllers will get you $27.50 trade in or $22 cash. It's up to you to decide if those values are fair to you. I have not tried using my monthly $5 freebie for a gift card, but many people have reported it no longer works (I see one person who said it works).

Any idea if the 220 would require be the console with 1 controller?

Yes, just like if you trade in a switch you need to include the controllers (joycons). Don't forget to factor in the $15 membership. You missed the best deal for trade in. You are about a month late.

Yesterday I tried to redeem the monthly $5 but there seemed to be a system issue. Will try again later this week.

Same here they would not let me redeem it for a 5 dollar playstation credit.

Manager saids ""its possibly a new policy change""

In texas, and the manager has been with GameStop for over 15 years.

If true this totally sucks.

I think for Sony, min is $10. You pay $5 and use $5 gc. I see it as buying the credit for half price

They have register print outs of gift cards starting at $5 at my location. The Manager said only accumulated points can work on the gift-cards/eshop/estore ect. Frown

No luck today on using $5 monthly coupon on PS gift card, I was told it could be a system issue or policy change, they don't receive any new policy yet

If it's true, this sucks. Entice customers to buy pro since you can use on in store gift cards and then restrict it a few months later.

Anyone think doing a survey would work? Leave some negative feedback regarding this change

Just curious but what was the deal about a month ago? I'm interested in eventually trading in my Xbox One X and upgrading to the Series X.. but it's not worth an extra ~$200 or whatever it is to me. I rarely play my console as it is, more of a PC guy myself. If the right offer came along I might be interested, but the Series X is never in stock anyway! EEK!
