Definitely worth it. The $5 monthly reward can be used twice (YMMV), once in store and again online (take a screenshot of it before using in store and use it online as "promo code" quickly). The 10k points can be used in store or online, just make sure to pick the right one.
So can you just buy $5 worth of gift cards each month? Seems like a decent deal you get $70 worth of stuff for $10.
Easiest thing to buy is $5 game credit like Nintendo eShop; they can print that small an amount on the register.

The monthly $5 - does that show in your account or you can just go in anytime and they'll see it? I see the 10K points but don't see anything about the $5. I just signed up 2 days ago.

It loads up automatically on the 1st of each month, so yours won't kick in until Feb 1.

Give it a few days. I did sign up in the middle of Dec and still received the $5 for that month.

I went in today to see what I could get with my $5. The Power Up Rewards code couldn't be applied to either a $5 Xbox digital code or to a $15 Xbox physical gift card!

I thought that we were good to go for at least January??? YMMV

So called my local store store today & they checked the $5 in-store rewards coupon & it did let Xbox GC on both card ($15 & above) & receipt ($5) work. So I drove in & it worked fine. Got my first free $5 Xbox GC after converting the $10 for signing up to $10 Xbox GC mid last month. Did not try to double dip since I am already content with them reversing their reversal of the early January GC policy.

The rep mentioned that at the beginning of the month corporate had change rules but after the feedback they got. They reverse it for now. He was not sure if it was just just for January or going forward. Either way I am already way ahead for purchasing the membership when I traded in my XBox One S in December 2021. Hope they continue to allow XBox GC's to be converted from the monthly $5 coupon aka honor the small print when I bought the membership just last month. I might start to use my $5 to purchase some digital games there too if they do.

Really enjoying my Xbox Series S. Just need to get Seagate 1TB storage soon to be all set.

Has anyone tried to use your February $5 rewards on a PSN or XBL $5 GC or one printed from the register to see if Gamestop decided to keep the temporary reprieve from January (after they initially blocked GC purchases using rewards)?

I'm wondering the same thing. Can anyone confirm?

So it seems it is still active.

https://www.reddit.com/r/GameStop.../?sort=new

But I think it can depend on who the guy at the register is too.

In my case on 02/01 the guy was kind of iffy like he would not care to try to see if it worked. Since corporate could change the rules on Feb. 1st at any time. But I bet I could of played dumb and kept asking until he tried. But I had 8000 points I wanted to burn any way. Since I don't trust GS with changing more things again in the future. So I asked if I could combine all coupons ($5 monthly + $5 (5K points) + $3 (3K points) to get a $15 Xbox Gift Card which is their lowest physical card & he said sure. So I just paid the $2 difference for a $15 Xbox GC.

So the answer is yes. Just find a store rep that is willing to do it.

Thanks and repped. I guess rather than asking each month if it's still active, I'll check the end of this thread each month and hope someone will post on his own if it's NOT active any more.

I don't like surprises so I prefer to know going in. My store seems willing to do it as long as the register allows it.

I just went in this past weekend and grabbed a $10 PSN card from the shelf like I've done in the last few months, no problem as usual. Starting next month though I will just redeem it online for the same $10 PSN card but digital. This was not possible previously but it is now.

Someone told me that these monthly $5 rewards can be used towards gift cards, like Xbox Store or Nintendo eShop. Is that true? If I don't buy a game in a particular month, can I just use the $5 for a $5 eShop or Xbox card?
How do you buy eShop with the $5 monthly reward?

I just go in store and show them the $5 certificate and tell them which currency I want. I have done it with MS Points only, not with eShop credit, but you probably could do it for eShop too.

That's neat, thanks I'll have to try with next months bonus.
