Definitely worth it. The $5 monthly reward can be used twice (YMMV), once in store and again online (take a screenshot of it before using in store and use it online as "promo code" quickly). The 10k points can be used in store or online, just make sure to pick the right one.
So can you just buy $5 worth of gift cards each month? Seems like a decent deal you get $70 worth of stuff for $10.
Easiest thing to buy is $5 game credit like Nintendo eShop; they can print that small an amount on the register.

I know this topic is old now but is anyone having issues using their $5 reward on gift cards this month? I've been buying $10 eshop cards with it since last year and all of a sudden this month isn't working...

I was gonna try this on my usual $10 PSN purchase after seeing your post but no PSN or Xbox gaming gift cards are in-stock atm. I then tried eShop and sure enough, it's not usable.Guess this marks the end of the Pro membership for me.

I got my $10 digital PSN this month. Is it not in stock now? Looks like it is.

I heard if you bought it on feb 1st, you were fine. The new rule didn't kick in until the 2nd. You likely bought it on the 1st is my guess.

They recently stopped allowing this for eShop, and an employee told me it seems like they're moving toward stopping that for all others (Xbox still worked for me on 1/29 ... we'll see if it still does when I try this weekend).

I wouldn't do this solely with the thought you can get a $5 gift card per month with the reward. You'd need to have more reasons to want to do this.

That really really sucks. I really hope they go back in it like they did a year ago. It's pretty much the only reason why I got a membership. 50% off a $10 gift card? Sign me up. But if that's going away I guess I won't renew in a couple of weeks...

$10 psn card worked on 1/30. Haven't tried this month.

Sucks if it doesn't apply to digital currency

I had over 15000 GameStop reward points I like to convert to $15 eShop card. So, this is what I did today. I first generated $15 in-store coupon in my account by redeemed 15000 points, then walked into GameStop store asking if I can combine my $5 monthly pro membership points with $15 in-store coupon to get $20 eShop gift code. The person worked in store was happy to try and it worked. So, I got $20 eShop code without having to spend anything out of my pocket.

Starting this month they got rid of the in store $5 Nintendo eshop and $5 Microsoft digital credit. Now minimum eshop is $10.

Also their return policy is horrible now. No returns in store on clearance items purchased online and very strict new product returns.

They waited until most subs renewed and then all of the sudden blocked all digital items from using the $5 monthly reward. You can't even purchase $10 eshop online. I'm going to cancel and see if I can get a refund. This is the last time I'm dealing with Gamestop.
