I own this and don't recommend it if you want any degree of control over the flame output. The dials feel spongy. When you turn them, they spring back towards the direction you turned from. It makes it very difficult to control. It's not a big deal if you're just going full blast, but if you ever want a lower flame, it makes is super difficult.

There are other reviews that indicate the same problem. I thought it wouldn't be a big deal, but I really dislike it.

Apart from that, it's a solid stove. Easy to clean/transport, takes the same propane canisters I use for my lamps.

EDIT: My parents' similar stove from decades ago doesn't have the problem with the dial.

Wanted to buy this a while ago. For sure it's better than their house brand Ozark Trail. Thumb Up and Repped.

This was my first dirty kitchen Rona cooktop, converted to large propane. Then upgraded to gasone ($60ish at time), puts out obscene amt of BTU, ~150k+

Gasone b5000, Home Depot has a newer version now, doesn't list btu but should be similar. it's pretty solid with my larger pots & cs wok, mostly all I use to fry or big boil.

Has much changed on this stove over the last two decades? I have an older one in like new condition I may be get from my parents who don't camp anymore, but curious to see if there's really that much difference in a newer one.

Probably better than the ones today. I think only the liquid stoves are made in USA. Don't quote me though

From what ive gathered on reviews on YouTube and on the comments here it seems like the biggest difference between the old ones and the new ones is
1- Flame control adjuster is better in the old ones
2- Old ones have a flexible hose adapter where the new ones it's a solid pipe
