Co-oped it with my 7yr old (skipping all the story cutscenes), was super fun to play and easy to learn

Right, I also have a 7 year old and was contemplating the same thing since the storyline is about the impending divorce of the main characters but the game itself seems fun.

It is a very well done, heart touching and positive story, gotta give kudos to the writer, but a 7yr old wouldn't care or get it anyways. The way we handled it is, "that stinking book keeps us from playing the game, lets skip him"

Platformer mechanics of this game is pretty good, especially if the second player hasn't played very many games. However the story can be a bit disturbing at times so I would caution against playing this with young children.

Agreed that this could be disturbing for young kids. This includes gameplay, not just cutscenes. My wife and I are playing through the game now, and one of the levels had us saying "WTF, this took a weird and disturbing turn"… but the game has definitely been fun.
