Gpu performance matters much more than cpu performance a gaming laptop. And I don't think I'd want the power hungry 12th gen Intel... I'll take ryzen HX or HS all day long....especially on a portable laptop... And a slim one at that (battery life, thin and light)
It's 85W TGP and up to 100W with dynamic boost. It can reach 100W when cpu load is limited. During combined load, the GPU TGP hovers around 85W to 95W.

I never saw this one hit 100 watts. Made sure all performance settings were enabled in bios, nvidia controls, and power settings but never went over 85 for me. Maybe it was throttling from heat? In destiny 2 and halo it ran about 85 degrees gpu can't remember what the cpu temps were, it's been over a month. That being said, it still performed well and In line with the 90 watt crowd. I just felt like I was cheated if it never boosted

Hold off for the 12th Generation CPUs, if you can. They are a significant improvement.

Bought this and the Zephyrus G15 during the last wave of pre- black Friday deals.

Ended up keeping the Lenovo - bottoms line is the build quality was much more important that i thought. This is a great laptop - running Halo Infinite and Warzone at great framerates, and super portable at just over 4lbs.

Keep in mind for those purchasing that the power brick is HUGE - for portability i'd recommend picking up a 100W Power Delivery Adapter (this laptop can charge from the usb-c port) and keep the 230W power brick at home.

ASUS pros:
Better resolution screen
3070 vs. 3060 (~10-15% higher frames @ same TDP)
Better battery life (3-4 hrs more than Lenovo)
Lighter power brick

Lenovo pros:
Build quality
Keyboard has numpad
Thinner
Cheaper than ASUS by ~$200-$300

This is the SLIM edition, it does NOT have a full powered 3060.

Yes. Even 11th gen intel was better than ryzen when plugged in.

This is really tempting, esp. with the $25 off PayPal coupon I have right now. Every reviewer says 1) the build quality is excellent, and 2) it grabs fingerprints like they're the new collectible craze. 😁 The one thing no one agrees on is battery life: for normal office tasks with med. brightness, is it more like 3-4 hours, or 6-7 hours?

It should still run 100w. Full power would be 130-145 if I'm not mistaken (I very well could be). I have this and it's drawing 91-102w

No it goes up to 90 with boost, it's a 80w GPU.
