"Up to 90 MB/s".. I'm at a local Costco, and that spec is listed on the back of the packaging.

That 512 Samsung is a step down from this Sandisk. The Next Generation is pretty close and costs $70 shipped from Amazon.

It's a deal for Costco subscribers. It says Costco in the thread title. If you don't have a membership, you can easily skip it.

This is the extreme version going for $79.79 on amazon right now.
The non extreme version is $47.99. Best price I've seen is around $40

If anyone is buying it for the Nintendo Switch theoretically you will not see a speed difference since the switch's read speed is 100 MB/s, but for $2 you might as well get the extreme version.

Can someone tell me the use case for the faster speed? Gopro?

My understanding is high speed data transfers for pro cameras, 4k drones, etc.

Yep, any of the recent GoPro cameras that record in 4K60 (HERO7 and newer) need a V30 rated card.

Same goes for the majority of DJI's drones especially the Mavic Pro series.
