This is incorrect information.

This is the 2020 M6 variant not the 2021 M7 variant as posted in this thread.

VIzio TVs are known to have buggy firmware, which they don't fix.

I personally will never buy one ever again after having a perfectly working TV, only to have them install bloatware, pop up commercials, with more bugs.

Avoid.

I bought a Vizio PQ9 (nicer model) and thought I could avoid the bad software by plugging in a Roku stick. Vizio somehow added a giant horizontal ad bar to the bottom part of the Roku interface. So not only is it bad but they make it hard to ignore.

In terms of the UI? That's definitely not good but I'm wondering how much of an issue it is if one uses a Roku or something. What do you think?

This seems like a decent TV, but I'm thinking there's likely better options available at this price point. I'm a big fan of TCL Roku TVs, but also have a 2015 Vizio 60" M-Series that performs quite well. Going to add it to the potential buy list.

Some of the things I noticed that are deterring me are:
  • Several reviews state sound quality is poor. Rtings gives it a 7.2. My 2015 has decent sound quality, but my TCL 6 series TVs blow it away. I don't like adding soundbars or additional components for aesthetics reasons.
  • It is quite thick at 3.39".
  • HDR brightness is rated 5 by Rtings.
  • No HBO Max application.

I thought buggy firmware and slow UI wouldn't bother me when I got my Hisense H8F since I would just hook it up to my Xbox. I was so wrong. It has become the most frustrating part of the tv along with the terrible local dimming feature. I won't buy another buggy tv like the Hisense or Vizio for that reason. My sister has a p series vizio which has a similar local dimming issue

So when you hook up a blue ray player, is there advertising on its start up screen? How can Vizio overlay a separate input feed?

despite these deals, I'm keeping mine. It serves my needs as a secondary TV. an ok value for the price. I'd rather have the extra 100 in my pocket than the slight quality upgrade especially with unoptimal viewing conditions.

The TCL R646 is in a completely different league than this one.
