I got this SSD for the PS5 and used this heat sink which fits perfectly - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KDDK...SF6H8C93JC

I think a lot of people slept on this SSD for their PS5 because they weren't familiar with the Adata brand but I have another one of their M2 SSDs in my main PC as the main OS drive and it's still going strong after 3 years.

"Read speeds of up to 7400 MB/s"

I would say yes! O_O

Great price. Too bad I bought the WD equivalent a few weeks ago.

Shows up at between 6200 and 6300 MB/s on the PS5 for me, however, I hear the PS5 isn't very accurate when calculating these specs.

Doesn't the "Blade" version of this SSD include a heat sink? Is there a reason why the one included isn't sufficient?

The heatsink included in my 1TB S70 Blade was one-sided. It can be argued if it even makes sense to have a heat sink on areas besides the controller but I also installed that MHQJRH heat sink. It worked fine so far without issue. My only issue with the drive was that it was a pain to check for firmware update. I had to put it in one of my m.2 slots to check. The ADATA software would not detect it with my USB NVME drive enclosure.

This is one of the cheapest options that meets the recommend spec for speed. There are some others that technically work, but have speeds closer to Gen 3, which may end up being a problem later if/when we get games that fully utilize the speed of the internal drive.

I have this ssd in my PS5. It's fast. On paper it's faster than the ssd the PS5 came with. Read speeds reported by the PS5 are 6500, although I've heard that those numbers aren't always accurate. I do know that Ghost of Tshushima Director's Cut loads intp the game so fast it's almost mind boggling. Same with FF7 Remake. That's one of the most impressive things about next gen gaming to me

I agree. Originally I had FF7 remake on PS4 Pro. The load times took some time. But the PS5 upgrade version is almost instant!
I'm curious to test running a PS4 game from the SSD to see how fast it loads. Something with horrible load times like GTA 5, or Last of Us 2.

My son has a Corsair MP600 core in his PS5. It tests at 5900 and works great.

Thinking about grabbing one of these for my PS5 as I'm running low on space.

I have an MSI Spatium coming for an external enclosure for my Mac

Nevermind. The one-star Amazon reviews are somewhat terrifying.

When I first got my PS5 I had just started Cyberpunk on PS4. First thing I did whe I connected my external hard drive to my ps5 was move Cyberpunk onto the SSD out of curiosity. Obviously it wasn't optimized for the new console, but the load times were really fast. Not Ff7 remake fast, but it obviously smoked the ps4
