I just got one of these keyboards, and while it looks nice visually and feels nice, the key spacing is extremely weird and I literally cannot type a single sentence correctly - I moved it to a computer that I rarely use.

I simply cannot go back to a membrane keyboard after my Neuro-link brain implant.

For 20 bucks this keyboard isn't bad. The rubber dome effect isn't overbearing until you bottom out and the RGB is half decent. I'm not sure how many modes there are but off the top of my head I'd say there's solid colors for the primary colors, a key stroke splash effect, and a few cycling effects as well, left to right, right to left, outer to center etc. Again, the main selling point is the price, for the price it's not bad at all. Definitely on the larger side and may not be suited for smaller desks.

Is this a good pill for new Gamers. My 13 year old is getting a gaming laptop for Christmas, so I had his aunt buy him the one at the link below. I'm assuming it's crap, but it lights up so I figured he would like it. Should I go with something like the one in the OP's deal instead?

Auntie's kit is fine for a 13yo just getting started. Red Dragon isn't the best but they aren't awful - I'm using a red dragon keyboard right now. The EVGA keyboard linked above is a better keyboard but not incredibly better. And unlike the Amazon kit you linked, this one does not come with a mouse or mouse pad. I think the kiddo will be fine.

No, this is not mechanical, but it's not awful for a rubber dome keyboard. At the very least it has replaceable key caps, dedicated media keys, programmable macro buttons, and a gaming mode button which locks out the windows keys. If you really don't want to go mechanical, this isn't bad for 20 bucks.

It's a decent deal, almost pulled the trigger just to have another spare keyboard. Then I realized what I was doing…. Another spare… I already have like half a dozen I don't use
