How did this go from $449.99 to $299.99 in a matter of weeks? Is it that bad? Or is nobody buying? What is the reason?

Hell of a deal, try price match at Bestbuy and use $250-$25 offer from Paypal + good chance to spend your gift cards/certificates if you need this.

Did get the price match at best buy, but didn't get an option to buy with PayPal since they sent me a direct link.

No one buying due to ram and mobo prices I think. DDR5 is nowhere to be found and not many people hopping on the FOMO train want ddr4 and a $230 mobo

This went up to $330. What are the odds it goes back down? Should I buy now or wait?

I am on the same boat. I finally decided to get an i7 instead of i5 because of the price drop to 300. I am visiting a city with a microcenter before I return home (no microcenter). Had planned to grab one 2 days ago but couldn't find the time. I think the best thing to do now is wait few days and pay with Amex card and price match remotely, hoping that they drop it again.

With cheaper boards getting announced soon (and maybe ddr5 being back in stock?) the price might not go back to 300 again, but I cannot tell for sure. Regardless, 330 is still a steal compared to other vendors like Amazon and Newegg.
