The deal will last until 12/17/2021, limited 2 per purchase.
And they aren't shutting down the Wii U shop yet, you can't buy things with credit cards starting in 2022, but you can still use credit from these gift cards to buy. I think it's got something to do with the lack of security surrounding that digital storefront. I mean you enter the 3ds storefront and you can buy anything without entering a password. So limiting it to Eshop funds at least limits the damage that can be done.

Also, they can't someday pull the plug on a server and end my access to a game that I paid for. Hardware obsolescence asideā¦
