You can buy 18TB Seagate Exos drives for $348-$368 depending on seller/warranty on Amazon. The have almost twice the MTBF rating.
Seagate says they aren't using MTBF anymore though. I don't know enough about how that works to challenge the statement you made, but curious to know what you think.
