Thanks for the post, brickseek Lowe's inventory checker hasn't worked in almost two months, do you pay for membership and it works?
I don't know about brickseek, but I use the Lowe's app on iphone and it tells me the inventory count on clearance items at my local stores, even though it says "in store purchase only". I don't get that same info on the website.
I can't vouch on accuracy but it has been accurate on this Craftsman stuff in my area.
Is it a good deal? I'll need to drive 15 miles to the store, so wondering if it's really worth?
For what it is it's a decent deal. Obviously there are better tools out there "but" if it meets your needs and this is your budget it's worth it. You can always upgrade tools within Craftsman or expand to another line as needs and budget changes. I use both Craftsman and Kobalt and have been happy with both lines. I did have a DeWalt impact driver but sold it as it overall exceeded my needs and budget for the long term.

It's a good deal, but keep in mind these are at the lower end of the spectrum when it comes to power tools. Probably fine for simple tasks, but not much else.
Personally, I find Ryobi tools to strike the right balance of price and quality for my needs. They also have tons of tools so it's a good ecosystem to get into.

This is a good deal if you're a homeowner needing a first starting set and won't need other tools and lowes is your only choice. If there's a home depot, I'd start off with ryobi one+ now if you see yourself needing more tools in the future like circular Saw, jig saw, hedge trimmer, pole saw, etc since each separate tool on ryobi is cheaper plus they have a bigger assortment. Take a look at eBay for individual tools pricing. Or just bite the bullet and start with this https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI.../309659455.
battery looks alot like porter cable batteries are they moddable?
LOL, no. Craftsman 20-volt batteries are such a cluster**** they are not even comparable with themselves! There are THREE (3) different 20-volt craftsman lithium battery formats and none of them are compatible with each other (but one is the same as the black & decker 20v which is compatable with the porter cables you mentioned, with a slight mod.). Lowes & Ace & others sell the Craftsman "V20" line (~2017); Sears (still, crazy, right?) sells the Craftsman "20v" line which came out in 2018, incompatable with each other. Craftsman previously had a small line of "Bolt-on" tools that were gray B&D "Matrix" tools that used craftsman branded 20-volt batteries that were interchangable with the current B&D 20v batteries and easily modable to fit the Porter Cable 20v tools, but distinctly different from either of the newer craftsman lines.
The B&D Matrix is a great tool, very capable and useful for homeowners.
Paid $40 for the two drivers with 2 batteries 1.5 years ago. They've done a decent job. Imo, the flashlight and saw aren't worth $60. I know, no time machine...but still. Only really went with it because I'd picked up a weed whacker for $8 on clearance at Lowes that week that used the same battery. Having 3 batts is nice.

Can you post a link to that deal? I did search, going back 2 years and couldn't seem to find it.

Just so everyone makes sure and identifies these are the Brushless series.
Yes there are cheaper deals. But they are not Brushless. Brushless motors last long, stronger, better energy efficient. And the driver brushless is same as the dewalt one look it up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMd8U_eMy1o
