OnePlus is a nightmare to deal with. Worst customer support I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Wasted countless hours dealing with support over literally 2 months, had to send my phone in twice and lost a $20 Dbrand skin in the process. Issue was never actually resolved, and they refused to replace the phone. They'll forever be on my shit list now.
Thanks to itxjustin for the steps to make the phone SIM-free (unlocked to use on other carriers).

1. Turned the phone on without sim
---- Connect to WIFI --
2. Went to Settings, Connections
3. Select Network Unlock
4. Select Permanent Unlock
5. Done
6. Update to Android 11
7. Check with a non-TMO SIM to see if you can make and receive calls.
I had this phone for almost a year and a half. It was great at first but now it gives a "not responding" message every so often. Also gets a lot hotter than it used to.... I bought it for $400 awhile ago so I'm not complaining. I love the hypercharge feature, every phone should have it.

I think it's still a good phone for $250 but just know there are issues with it.

They also have a $30 off of $300 for signing up for email. Not sure if that can be combined on this offer.

So based on the forum it will unlock. Will it work on visible mobile or Verizon?

Make an account then don't complete the purchase and ONEPLUS will most likely send you a code for $50 to your email in about 10 minutes.
Got the code in mail but I guess it won't stack with code above

ATT has been not allowing non ATT devices through their 3g upgrade crap. Would this be allowed to run on ATT?

Bought the T-Mobile version a couple of weeks back from a previous post. Upgraded from the 6T which I loved. This phone is super fast and responsive. But if you like to play games on your phone, this is a complete headache as many buttons in games are on the edge of the screen and with the rounded edges it makes clicking anything in that area a pain in the ass. That is really my only gripe. If it had a normal flat screen like the 6T has, this would be an awesome phone.

Beaware that this phone has been so unreliable with the new update. I'm on android 11 and systemUI and apps constantly crashed or unresponsive. I feel like I'm using the first version of Android 50% of the time now

Lol, how desperate are they to clear inventory for this phone? But with how horrible OnePlus' software has become, I guess it makes sense not many people want it. Might be a good deal if the bootloader can be unlocked immediately
I am interested in it to try OnePlus out but then I see what Android 12 Oppo ColorOS looks like and I am not digging it. Looks very IOSish and I prefer the stock Android style. I am sure they will fix lot of the bugs but still.

OnePlus suspended their Android 12 update to their early adopters after many complaints with bugs of the new OS Oppo style "ColorOS".

I'm on the latest version with no issues. I'd try a hard reset or maybe we are just doing different things on our phones?

I'm using cricket which is att so as of right now I don't see why not. But I've heard that has ended or was going to. I had issues several months back and lost service, that I know was on there end. Guy at cricket store said he thought it was because phone isn't fully supported. I just told him to send the problem higher up the tech support chain. If wasn't fixed in a couple days I'd just switch service. It was working next day. No problems since.

Got this about a month ago at this price. OS has been pretty rock solid for me, surprisingly. No crashing or bugs at all. Reposting a comment I dropped on a prior thread:

Super fast, nice OLED screen, great deal for the price generally. Very, very easy to unlock after connecting to wifi out of the box. Biggest issues for me so far:

1. This works with Cricket, including VoLTE, but it's not in their whitelist. Even though it's on AT&T's. So I'm not sure if this will continue to work after they do their big network switch away from 3g in February. But I'm planning on switching away from Cricket anyway for the whitelist among other reasons, so ultimately won't be a huge issue.

2. Curved screen feels nice in the hand but looks dumb and makes text that runs up to the edge of the display a little tough to read at times.

3. I miss the headphone jack, but unless I get a Pixel 5a I was going to need to live without one. And this is both cheaper and faster than the 5a.

4. The cameras are only ok. Even with a gcam port, this doesn't hold a candle to Pixels or iPhones when it comes to camera quality. That said, it's perfectly serviceable: the video actually looks pretty solid with good stabilization and the stills from the main sensor are passable when using gcam. Unfortunately the wide angle isn't usable with gcam (distortion from the lens isn't corrected) and isn't that great outside ideal lighting conditions with the built in app. And the macro is a complete joke that is absolutely garbage and unusable.

5. No wireless charging. But the fast charge does work as advertised and my last phone didn't have wireless charging either, so not a deal killer for me.

So definitely some minuses, but on the whole compared to other new phones this is the best deal you can get for the price. Guessing this will sell out pretty fast.

Clearly no one is being forced to buy it, because OnePlus can't clear their stock

I got an AT&T locked iPhone 11 for $250 a few months ago, got it unlocked for use on T-Mobile and it runs circles around this device.
you must be a genius to compare iphone to any android device /s...

for $250, this thing has SD865 and 90hz screen for kick ass gaming AND emulation performance (especially using the new free AetherSX PS2 emulator)...the software is basically 90% native android (significantly less customized than samsung's UI)...screen is buttery smooth AMOLED...great battery life...and the tri-camera system is decent, what more can you ask for?

and if you bought the tmobile version like me, just go to settings-carrier options to unlock it immediately, no hassle required...

No it won't. It for people who couldn't get the other code to work.
