One should not assume that a cable certified today as 2.1 is in any way an improvement over a previously purchased 2.0 cable. All features should be listed on product page. This post (and product page) does a nice job of clearly listing the capabilities of the cable.
Update: hook up with my RTX 3080 and Lg cx, 4k@120hz G-sync HDR works perfectly

One of my soundbars wasn't registering DTS:X and Dolby Atmos until I switched to a HDMI 2.1 cable. Tried three different new HDMI cables, 2 of which were 1.4 and one was 2.0. I still haven't been able to figure out why.
