Semi-auto machines are what all espresso enthusiasts prefer. A machine like this is 100% for convenience... but it significantly reduces customizability or upgrade potential. Espresso is very complicated, and thus generally very expensive.

You're putting puck of coffee under high pressure and getting water to flow in very specific ranges. Water flows through the path of least resistance too, so a poorly made puck will make bad coffee.

The difference between a super-auto like this, and a semi-auto is that you have to prep and remove the puck yourself, but generally everything else is handled for you. This gives you a huge amount of customizability in prepping the puck... suck as how much coffee.. grind size... distribution of grinds... etc. With a super auto, you are generally stuck with their grinder, a couple of settings to change grind size, and a couple of settings to change dose. Is grind size 4 too sour but grind size 5 is bitter? Too bad... hopefully one of the other variables they let you touch makes a small enough gets you a good cup. Otherwise, deal with it or try again with a different bean.

EDIT: I do also want to clarify, at this price point you're probably going to get a good cup of coffee (after adjustments). You just may find it difficult to get a GREAT cup of coffee. Diminishing returns and all that.

For $2K you can get a better semi-automatic machine. Just my 2c.

What are those?

It feels like a glitch with the website and they will probably review the orders before shipping them. There is no extra discount for a pickup. I think you need to add two items then remove one and test20 discount will stack. Clearly some sort of a glitch
I definitely think this promo code is a glitch too, but it's been a day and it's still working.

Also, i bought the philips 3200 yesterday and it has already shipped out. So no worries about it getting canceled.

Wow just ordered a Jura E6 for pickup. $1500 down to $900. Hoping to grab it today so they can't pry it away from me.

Extra 20% off for in store pickup on the Gaggia or Jura machines. Have to add it to cart for store pickup. Just picked up a Jura Ena 4 for $539...
I don't see the pickup discount on jura. Can you post a link please

Philips 3200 vs Jura ENA 4 what's better? I know Jura ENA4 don't have milk frother and wondering if that makes big difference? New to this espresso machine and looking for somewhat good machine for newbie

No need to do in store pickup, just use code TEST20 for 25% off and Jura/Gaggia machines stack another 20% on top. Probably a glitch.

I'm only getting it to 1500 as it's price is $2000 pre-coupon?
Scroll down further and you will see it knocks 799 off the total price.

Depends on what specifically you're looking for. A Breville Dual Boiler + Sette 270 was my first, which came in under $2k. Going for a Niche would be a good upgrade to the Sette if you can stomach waiting in line for them to next go on sale + ship. The BDB was great because it kept a separate boiler for steaming if you plan on doing milk drinks. Steam and the coffee are done at two separate temperatures... so a single boil has to heat up + cool down between drinks.

Keep in mind, espresso is a hobby. A semi-auto will give better coffee (read my post above yours) but it will take significantly more work than a single button press + minor configuration options.

Make sure you scroll all the way down to see the discounts because the price shown up top was different. But you should see the final price prior to checkout. I used PayPal.

This code is actually ridiculous and must be a glitch. Applied it to a single full priced item and it stacks a 20% discount on top of 25% discount.
What's the 20% coupon?
