Please be aware the WiFi gateway is not included. These may be add-on to an existing gateway
Smart tech is better if you REALLY need to know its leaking. Many of us live in homes that're large enough to where we cant hear everything, especially these if its going off if we're on the other side of the house. I couldn't when I had a leak.

Smart tech is more expensive of course but you can know its happening even if you're not home. There's also shut off valves that can be controlled remotely too so if you're far far away, no worries.

Just something to think about.

By the way, when I got this and it was flooded, water ironically ended up getting on the inside and destroying it so it's not very waterproof.
Govee has a number of home automation products that work independently, but have added features if you connect them to your network. These water detectors, for example, will sound a loud alarm if they detect water.

But if you link them to one of Govee's wireless gateways, and connect that gateway to your Wi-Fi network, then in addition to sounding an alarm, they will also send a message to your phone. So you will know there's a leak, even if you're on the top floor or otherwise away from home.

Recently there have been deals on Govee detector bundles, both with and without a gateway. This bundle does not include a gateway.

These are the best detectors you can find. They use 433 MHz to connect to the gateway, and as a result they have a much better range, and the battery lasts much longer than the detectors which use WiFi to connect to the gateway or router.

In addition, they use two 1.5v alkaline batteries instead of the 9v battery which is more expensive and needs to be replaced every 6 to 9 months.

You can buy a gateway and connect all the detectors to it. Connect the gateway to the wifi and you will receive SMS messages on the phone(s) and emails even if you are not near the device to hear the alert. The device itself is very load and you can hear it even from outside the house. When you receive an alert, it also updates the battery level in the phone app, so you can see when you need to change the batteries in advance.

I bought 7 of them for kitchen, fridges, sinks, bathrooms, water heater, ... about 2 years ago and just replaced the batteries on one of them. I also bought 5 more now to connect to the existing gateway.

I bought them two years ago for $10 each and $10 for the gateway, and it was an excellent price because it is a great product.
What gateway did you get?

Its in the manual (you can find the manual on the 3pk and hub Amazon listing). Step 3 in the manual shows you how to cycle from High-Med-Low-Mute for the sound.

It only updates battery level when you receive a leak alert? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of making sure the sensor is ready to detect a leak?

Mine arrived today. These are significantly quieter than the first batch I got over a year ago. I've not hooked them up to the hub yet, but just pulling the battery protector and testing against those is a big difference. The description said it's adjustable. Maybe I can adjust in the app.

you can adjust the sound level in 4 intensities (including mute) right on the devices, just have to press some button or something (cant remember the exact steps). It was def in the manual though.

I found the range not to be good when going through a wall. Using two detectors and had to place gateway midway between them for the App to pickup that was on other side of wall. Got maximum distance of about 30 feet for one transmitting through wall. What range did others get? I purchased product a month ago so it's the latest model.

will check this as i just got my gateway and 3 more sensors today, generally i have my hubs and gateways in the middle of the house like the center of a wagon wheel with spokes to sensors.

I had to trip each sensor to find out which was which in the app so i could label them int he app.

This is to warn you about a water leak. It may survive and it may not. The point is to warn you and prevent major damage. Dealing with govee, they may provide a replacement.
