Best waffle maker with removable plates around $60.
For those who understand just how much easier it is to clean up messy and residual oil/grease.
You can easily spend $200 on a Breville Waffle Maker but will it make a 3x better waffle, no.
The AllClad version is $300

If you are looking to upgrade your current $10/$20 good enough waffle maker from a Black Friday sale I would definitely get this. It is a dead simple device that with a little care will last you probably your entire lifetime.

FYI, the pancake plates are pretty useful in making little egg patties as well!

Cuisinart video was not impressive. Looked like the woman burnt the sides and bottom. To me the waffle seemed flat and the pockets of the waffles didn't look very deep.

I have this model and I think it's a pretty solid machine. Waffles come out pretty even and I like the fact that it's pretty compact with a small footprint.

I haven't tried using the pancake iron feature but I think it's kind of a waste because the "mold" is too small for pancakes and too wide for poached eggs. You can definitely use them for either, but they won't be of standard size. I think they should've shaped the iron specifically for english muffin sized poached eggs.

But they do just fine on waffles.

I've had this for a few years. It's... okay.
But to temper your expectations:
  • You definitely still need to brush the plates with oil or your waffles WILL stick.
  • And while the plates are dishwasher safe, I've found to my unhappiness that these plates with caked-on, dried waffle batter are somehow one of the few things my dishwasher will not magically clean.
  • It's a bit of a tough balancing act to pour enough batter in to make full-sized waffles but without the batter spilling all over the sides; there's no protection on this waffle maker to prevent the spillage (like a slight slope on the edges or anything like that).

If you didn't care for the whole idea around making breakfast in this machine and only cared for waffles (like we all should), Cuisinart has a vertical waffle maker that is absolutely fantastic!
