Got five packs of them for $4.97 each last week and I LOVE THEM. We put them in the dishwasher and they are fine. Over time, the dishwasher will affect their ability to color change, but it will take a long time. Their quality has held up just fine. The confetti ones aren't really "color change" though, if that affects your decision to buy. You can just see the confetti better when there's liquid in the cup. Also, we give them to the kids, and we have had NO instances of lids popping off. So these are a great buy!

Good deal, but, also know that these were priced at $4.97 in Louisville, KY. Obviously, YMMV elsewhere. Thanks for posting.

I bought some of these and love them as well! I am hoping to pick up a couple more today at the warehouse. They are great reusable cups for the kids since they have tops that stay on.

You don't notice the plastic aging, etching or developing a film pretty quickly? This is typically a risk with cups like these which aren't labeled as dishwasher safe. I always question the logic of some of these kid-targeted items which also demand kid-gloves treatment. I need a device to make things easier for my kid... but that also generates more work for me on the back end? A lower maintenance alternative for me is a Thermos Funtainer whose silicone straw/seal and stainless body are all safe for the dishwasher. A much bigger upfront investment, but the longevity is proven (you can buy new seals and integral straws separately and get effectively a brand-new thermos).

Good luck!
Jon

No aging at all and we use five a day and they get washed daily. In fact, I use them for my iced tea because the plastic isn't porous at all and doesn't hold the soap flavor the way some plastics do. I have other color change cups that aren't dishwasher safe that we use in the dishwasher just fine and over time, they stopped going back to their original color totally and got a shade darker. That doesn't bother me at all. I don't think there will be any breakdown of these cups outside of the colors.

We actually have some of the thermos funtainers but my kids hate them because the silicone straw tastes like soap no matter how many extra rinses we do in the dishwasher. All of our silicone straws do, and so do the silicone bowls. I do appreciate the tip though, and I hope some people reading this thread find it useful.

Silicone definitely has it's own challenges sometimes so I truly recognize what you're saying. Admittedly, I came to Funtainers after at least 4-5 different options since a kid's personal preference is also going to be a big factor.

Good luck!

This time of year the displays are going to convert to things like workout gear, no?

Good luck!
