Hi guys those are really worried about them screen and if it replaced or aftermarket- here is the confirmation I got from customer support - "All our devices reconditioned are brand new devices that were returned by the customer for any reason" and would have original battery and screen

On the other question being prominent in this thread - the unlock policy and if it 12 months or 60 days
Here is the update and I checked with couple of customer care representative just to be sure and this is what I was told
" the device activation date when you receive it and the service activated is considered the date of activation" and needs to remain as an active service for 60 days to be unlocked

Pls. Note the service has to active for 60 days but I have heard conflicting views from a telephone rep and chat rep they all did confirm it's 60 days and not 12 months but one said 60 days of active service and other said automatically 60 days. Those who might still be thinking you can reach totalwireless on a chat and confirm with them for your reference as well
Someone over at Howard forums reported their phone was unlocked today.
XR is an excellent phone for this price. But you should really buy a $1500 13 promax so you can impress yourself and your friends.

If i just want an unlock phone as gift to someone, what would be best use of this XR trade-in?

So far ive seen $325 value toward Pixel 5a. Anything else to consider?
Someone said that Google are not good with trade ins. They assess the phone value usually less than the max (325).

I believe there is a way to tell if is an after-market screen. You go to the brightness bar under the control center and long press on it. You should be able to see 3 options: 1-Dark Mode, 2-Night Shift, 3-True Tone. If true tone is missing then it is an after-market screen. I could be mistaken.
You are correct truetone doesn't work on aftermarket screens. There is no chance total wireless is replacing screens. All of their phone usually come in new condition with most having apple warranty.

truetone works on third-party screen as long as they replace the screen SN in the system. Not many refurbisher can do that, but the one TW uses can. It needs a special device to update the SN. After they update the screen SN, the replaced screen is treated as original and have true tone enabled. Thus all phones from them will have truetone enabled anyway. However, if you need to send it to apple for repair, the request will be rejected as in their system they will see both the old and new screen SN.

Just sent my XR in for $320, was barely 3 months old with warranty. Great deal on Pixel 5a. So ordered this to replace it since I've got cases I can use. Hopefully will be unlocked later if policy is as listed.

Personally, I don't think it is worth the trouble since the phone is only supposed to remain locked for 2 months, unless you absolutely need to use the phone on another carrier on day 1.

For me, I will just pay for 2nd month to maximize the chance for it to get unlocked. Then use the points earned from the reward program to get free service for another 2-3 months.
Also RSIM won't unlock eSIM and you will have to redo it if you install any updates I think, not sure though

Can anyone tell me what options to choose for the iPhone XR during checkout to show $400?
I tried many options, and still stay at $200.

Buying $499 unlocked T-mobile upgrade

edit: do you guys pick "unlocked" or "t-mobile" version on the S21 product page???

If I pick "t-mobile", tradein shows $400

If I pick "unlocked", tradein shows $200

would appreciate someone with a quick answer...
I'm having the same problem. Let me know if you figure it out.

$25 off coupon TWDIOC0SI011MAR has expired
The promo code you have entered is not correct. Please verify the information, and try again.

Coming out $154 + tax. Not sure if it's worth it.

I don't know if they've improved in the last year, but Google's trade-in program was a big clusterfk last November/December when they had a sale on the Pixel 4a5G.

There were a number of people whose trade-in values got lowered because of bogus reasons, and one or two got their trade-in value back in service credits (as opposed to credit back to the credit card they used). The thread is here, and you can probably find the posts if you search for "assess", "valuation," etc:

Out of curiosity, how many is many?

I keep reading about people getting their orders cancelled because they've ordered too many phones from TF/TW, and it'd be nice to have an idea of where they draw the line.
30+ ordered ~ all shipped to same address on same credit card and more than half used 25%off new email code
(Use VPN and wipe browser cache )

I do sometimes use different name in address, but at least 15 orders same name and no cancel yet.
I used one day shipping 3 times. All 3 times failed and were ordered like 6am-8am est that day.( Came 4-3 days later. Customer support says order processing system takes time and offered me no compensation on late shipping.)

Now I just go normal free shipping and wait few days.

These XR are good because I am paying $133.80 per XR with NY tax and apple store takes them back at $200 apple store gift card.

Basically buying apple gift card at huge discount 🤣 . Too slick !

Received cancellation email today from LOSS Prevention, with total BS reason, 1st time ordered and placed on 12/21. LOL

"At this time, we regret to inform you that your order, placed on December 22, 2021, was not approved, and could not be processed by our billing verification systems."
