I haven't found this to be remotely the case in my use. Smooth as butter, very quick and haven't had the first bug or glitch.
Be aware that if you are a Cricket customer looking for a phone to use on their network this will NOT work starting February of 2022. It has to be the IN2015, which the T-Mobile version is not.
lol where do you people come up with this stuff. i've had it for like a month and it's fine.

Just be aware that if you're buying this phone to use as a daily driver, OxygenOS 11 has been majorly buggy + slow. And OxygenOS 12 seems to be even worse, as they're merging ColorOS into OxygenOS but without fixing many of the issues on either skin + locking the software down even harder (like breaking the GCam mods that improve the camera). I'd recommend to unlock the bootloader and flash a custom ROM ASAP.
My OnePlus 6 has been having constant issues with random freezing and hanging on network use. Started the day I upgraded to 11. There are a lot of complaints about Oxygen 11.1.2.2 on multiple models. My OP6 has also been flawless from day 1 until Android 11. Agree about using a different ROM but not sure if the BL can be unlocked on these..

Being using my ONEPLUS 8 daily for 2 weeks, smooth as silk.

A quick google search will point you to know that Tmobile has to unlock your phone and not OnePlus. In this case, you were let down by Tmobile who say that the phone is not "in their system". Which I think means that it first needs to be activated on their network, and only then once the IMEI has been registered they can unlock it.

EDIT: Has anyone tried to contact Tforce on Twitter or FB to get the phone unlocked? They are usually more knowledgeable than your phone-based CS.
I don't doubt what you say about T-Mobile being responsible for unlocking this but OnePlus customer support should have provided more assistance than just blowing me off with bogus information and vague responses to my questions. Since I do still have the phone I will reach out to T-Mobile customer support again and perhaps someone else can assist me with getting this unlocked. Unfortunately I'm not on facebook or twitter which makes it impossible for me to use those avenues for support. It's a mystery to me why so many of the T-Mobile OnePlus 8 phones are being unlocked automatically while my 8T is not.

I purchased the 8T+ (T-Mobile) on Dec 1, received it on Dec 15, and was not able to unlock it using the steps that have been given for unlocking the 8. I contacted T-Mobile and they said they didn't have the phone in their system and I would have to contact OnePlus. I contacted OnePlus customer support and they were beyond useless. They tried to tell me the phone had to be active for 40 days before it could be unlocked. I asked them to show me where that was documented and they continually ignored me. I believe that is the policy for boot-loader unlock but that is now what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to RMA the phone since I'm still in the 15 day window and after 2 days I'm still waiting on the information I need to send the phone back. I'm done with OnePlus after this horrible experience with their customer support.
I had the same problem requesting unlock on the first day of using my Oneplus 8. Then used it for about a week and repeated the same unlock request and worked.

I use it one mine and the recorder works perfectly. I also am able to set the animations scale to 0.75x which is not an option in the regular developers setting.
Then your phone must be rooted, rooted phone works for everything thats no surprise. .. conversely if phone not root, try to reboot your phone, call recording service must be killed.. you may have star over the process again to get back call recording ..

Is the tmobile version also dual sim ?
I believe so. But since this is tmobile version, the second sim is locked. I guess you can unlock it somehow, not sure.

Are you a tmobile customer? This only works for tmobile customers (my apologies if you are but it isn't clear from your post
No. If you read the OnePlus 8 thread that is now in the Deal Talk forum since that deal is dead you will see where many people were able to unlock their phone without being a T-Mobile customer. The unlock process does not require a sim card so there is no way of knowing if the owner of the phone is a T-Mobile customer or not.

This phone is a "smart choice".
It is a premium mid-ranger at a great price that offers a superb pick of flagship features: AMOLED screen w/120Hz, the SoC, 65W Warp charging, but no wireless charging(!), Oxygen 11 runs smooth and fluid. The camera may not seem like a winner - it is not disappointing, but it's not ideal either.
The only real issue is that OnePlus is forcing a 60fps cap on most of the games, video players and other services, maybe for performance or heat protection, or battery saving, and the user has no saying in this...

That's the only thing I don't like about this deal, as I don't think it's literally twice as good as the 8 which is on sale for $199 right now. It has faster charging, slightly better screen, and slightly better camera.... To me it's not worth it, but YMMV.
Would have gotten an 8 also but I can't stand curved screens. The 8T does not have a curved screen. Well worth it for me.

I'm on hold with T-Mobile support and they are saying the same thing that the other CS told me, the IMEI is not in their system. It makes sense that this would prevent the automated network unlock utility from unlocking the phone. Any suggestions?

It is if you install the international firmware on it. The hardware is capable (except they ship a single sim tray). [Assuming it's like other oneplus models like the op 7 pro and several others)
