I haven't found this to be remotely the case in my use. Smooth as butter, very quick and haven't had the first bug or glitch.

Be aware that if you are a Cricket customer looking for a phone to use on their network this will NOT work starting February of 2022. It has to be the IN2015, which the T-Mobile version is not.

seems like both T-mobile and unlocked are dual sim.
No, KB2007(T-Mobile) stock ROM does not support dual sim. You may unlock the second SIM slot by flashing global/custom ROM. KB2005(unlocked) stock ROM supports dual sim.

For Oneplus 8, they specifically write T-mobile single SIM. For 8T I don't see they mention anything But I think you are right.

OK, you can thank me for the forthcoming price drop as I really needed to replace my dad's phone and went ahead and purchased.

I am sure it will drop $100 within' the next 24 hours or so. laugh out loud

How dare you? Those highly trustworthy and totally transparent organizations like NSA, CIA, and CDC are the very reason that U.S is THE BEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD! worship

Spent one week with t-mobile over the phone and chat sessions. No one at t-mobile voice or chat support could get my phone unlocked after seven days even when escalated to supervisor level. Finally after reading this thread and other comments on the internet, I reached out to @TMobileHelp on twitter. The twitter t-mobile support said that a special request must be made for unlocking if purchased from the manufacturer directly. My oneplus 8t was unlocked in 24 hours. All that I needed to show was the receipt from oneplus.com (used a screenshot) showing it was paid in full and I was good to go.

Will flash the European version so I can use dual sim support. Sweet.

This is really one nice and smooth phone! I will probably wait to bootloader unlock.

Summary - If you are a postpaid t-mobile customer and the 8t is paid in full you don't have to wait 40 days to sim/network unlock (Mobile device unlock (MDU) is the term t-mobile uses) and reach out to @TMobileHelp on twitter to request a special unlock for a device purchased directly from the manufacturer. That should do it and it worked like a charm.

Hope this helps
I tried contacting them via @TMobilehelp , quoted your testimony too but still they are denying it. I dont know what to do now RMA is the possible option

They are a cunning company
I checked with them during Thankgiving and they had put a similar deal on oneplus 8 and had out the unlocked version out of stock
Now, on this deal, they have done the same
unlocked out of stock
yeah, how dare they decide to only put one model on sale! This is ABSURD. I DESERVE the unlocked one at this price!

Is the 8t as easy to SIM unlock and unlock bootloader for root as the 8 was? I had to upgrade from my 5t and don't love the 8. I am mentally ready to get rid of it. It works great, but don't like the curved screen or camera/flash placement.

8T is not as easy to unlock. I have been contacting T-Mobile ever since I got 8T, but since the device is not from T-Mobile they are unable to help to unlock it. May be be on the T-Mobile network for 40 days, and try requesting, other than flashing global rom is easy.

The only reason I wanted to get this phone is for stock ROM and security updates for next 3 years.
Looking at oxygen OS reviews and all the crap around merger with another OS it looks like it will be a difficult journey in the coming year for OnePlus users.

Bought this yesterday for $200 using .edu student discount through studentbeans. Might be worth double checking to verify that offer is no longer available.
