Can bezos endorse is this?
Strange how they've switched over to foam, as if it's a more effective method of application or has some other benefit. The liquid dropper method of application was much more effective at delivering the medicine directly to the skin. I think the foam probably results in more of it being wasted in the hair.
Liquid dropper made my scalp flaky. Foam doesn't. Could be as you said that the foam isn't efficiently getting onto the skin. Could be that the liquid irritates the scalp more. But that's the reason I buy the foam

God, I started this decades ago. No current link but in the hair loss forums this was a common practice back when I read about them. It's not my idea, but was the way a lot of men did it. This is back in the Dr. Lee custom minox compounding days, if you were around for that.

Gentlemen: save your money, have confidence in yourself, and just clean shave it off. Chicks dig confidence much more than some dude that has to apply greasy foam to his head twice a day. Plus, if you have the confidence to proudly go bald, that same confidence will take you further in so many other aspects of your life.
Hair loss also exists in women. Women with shaved heads don't get the same approval which men with shaved heads do.

Correct but you forgot to mention that you would still need to continue on the big three regimen even after you get a transplant or you'll lose it all.

Hair loss is a complicated thing and one of the most vulnerable issues that men go through. There's been a few early frustrating misinformed posts in this thread that I'm glad have been corrected by the likes of lilessiesdabomb & Vincenttran147. Either way though this is a subject that requires careful analysis and decision making. It is a lifetime commitment so one has to be determined and disciplined before wading in.

I have been on the big three for the last 15 years and have maintained a NW1 for the last few years. I think you have the right idea but you need to understand the problem and that Minoxidil is only one part of the solution.

Here's my long take for anyone who's thinking of diving into this:

- Most hair loss is caused by Androgenic Alopecia [medlineplus.gov]. It is usually genetic and is also commonly known as male-pattern baldness and what the majority of men face when it comes to hair loss at this time. There are other conditions like Telogen Effluvium and others that are rare so I always tell people before they just guess and start any treatment to see a Trichologist (Less common in the States)or a dermatologist that specializes in hair loss. They will run tests including bloodwork and come up with a proper diagnosis which will most likely be male pattern baldness.

- Once the diagnosis has been confirmed, the next step is understanding where you are on the Norwood Scale [medicalnewstoday.com]. This is very important. There is no cure if you are NW 6 or 7 so you're expectations will be tempered with what you will be able to achieve and more times than not you will be aiming for a realistic goal. The lower you are on the Norwood Scale the better the chances that you'll reverse the loss. Even people at a Norwood 6 or 7 have unbelievably affordable options in this day and age with amazing hair replacement systems that they couldn't have imagined having decades ago.

- Next step is to get on "the big three [google.com]." There are differing opinions regarding the components of the big three and their various side effects and most of them are legitimate to a certain degree. it should in fact now be 'the big four' since Microneedling/ Dermarolling is one other additional method that should be incorporated to the mix. You can dig through reputable forums [hairpalace.co.uk] like Hairloss Talk, Harloss Restoration network and Reddit's Tresless but the short scientific truth is that you might be able to get away with mixing and matching by trying one or two but that is something that will only work for the short term. The big three are critical to maintaining hair for the long term and there's no other way around it. Each one should be introduced slowly and one at a time giving it a few months or so to give it time to see and observe how the body reacts before adding the next one and so on.

Here's how I see each one through my long term usage and experience:

Finasteride/ Propecia [webmd.com]. The side effects of finasteride/ propecia mainly low libido are well known. The majority of it is reversible in a few months once one stops using it and truth be told it is not common for the majority of users out there including myself. One should make it a point to get their prostate and testosterone checked through blood work every year as part of their physical anyways if they're on it to monitor any possible changes and make sure everything is right. It should be started at the lowest strength (0.25ml) and progressively move up to 1ml or 1.25ml max and no higher than that. If side effects are observed, it should be stopped and a visit to the doctor is in order to run additional bloodwork to see if any systematic changes have occurred. It is a life long medication taken daily and if followed upon correctly should provide great benefit for long term hair maintenance.

Minoxidil/ Rogaine. I personally actually consider the side effects of Minoxidil (google will show a never ending list) more severe than finasteride. Skin changes like decreased collagen leading to bags and circles under eyes, acne, lines on forehead etc are common. Because of this, I personally take great care by using the foam version since it dries quicker and contrary to what people here posted earlier only use it once a day and apply it in the morning. I minimize the risk of the above side effects by changing out my pillow sheets every night and make sure not to let my head rest on anything that my face might touch without making sure it's dry first or wearing a cap as an alternative. Oral minoxidil is starting to get wide usage but I'm not just willing to go there as my above method works for me.

Nizoral Shampoo. Pretty conflicted about it as I've used it for a long time and it tends to dry out your hair so a moisturizing conditioner is a must afterwards. Use it only twice a week. I recently switched to Regenepure Dr and although it is ridiculously expensive- it is sulfate free and much gentler on my hair and have seen great results in just a few months. Just use it twice a week.

Microneedling/ Dermarolling is a great method on top of the above three but one needs to have a certain tolerance for pain and requires patience.

Hair Transplant has come a long way from the old days and FUT/ FUE are the gold standard methods where if you have good donor hair (back of your head below the vertex) one will see amazing results. One should go this route after being on the big three for a while and only after the hair loss has stabilized. As I mentioned before, the big three will need to be continued even after a transplant or the hair will fall out eventually without it. Turkey is the destination du jour where one can get great to excellent results with ridiculously low prices as long as you do your homework and go to one of the reputable surgeons that are recommended on the forums and not the hair mills that are found in every corner. Even those do a half decent job nowadays that satisfy most people compared to a Bosley or such that are found out here.

I'm open to questions if anyone is confused or otherwise
ive just been shaving my head once a month, once i start slowing down my shedding and see where I sit, I will go about hair transplants, and go through all the proper steps. its just depressing. but its genetic, my grandpa basically had same issue similar to my age.

glad to read the info you shared. I dont mind shaving my head, its cheaper than haircuts. but yeah, I have always hit the gym hard (which could excellerate the loss) from dht but id rather be bald and healthy than fat and bald.

either way, SUCKS. I see older men who are straight up studs w full thick hair. natural genetic. jelly

More likely the foam has some hair product in it that makes the hair "look" better which helps the perception that the product is working. Using the dropper leaves the hair wet and matted until it is dried and then styled/brushed/combed.

I need the liquid because I mix other supplements into it, which I believe helps improve the product performance.

What do you recommend if im 1 on the NW scale but I got this receding/thinning thing going on my hairline above my nose? I feel like it may just go straight into horseshoe in a few years and knowing my luck I think I may get all the SE of Minoxidil or Finasteride

The foam melts using hot water from your tap. Dispense into the cap, let it sit in hot water for 2 mins or so, and you get liquid without the polyethylene glycol (no bad smell or carcinogens). Been doing it this way for years.
Thanks! I've been using the liquid for years via a spritz bottle. Saved a fortune, but dry scalp most likely from the alcohol. I bought about 10 boxes before they discontinued it at costco (Sam's Club already discontinued it) so I guess I'll do your trick when I'm forced to buy the foam.

"The majority of it is reversible in a few months"

Here is the key you are putting a powerful drug in your body. You might be fine or you might stop being able to get full erections for THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.

There is a reason "propecia lawsuit" is a suggestion in google.

Sure it works for some, but you risk a useless wang and other side effects.

They don't take the transplants from the crown doofus. You don't lose any of the hair they transplant as those hair follicles are not susceptible to male pattern baldness. LOL!

You must have misunderstood the doctor. You can still lose the hair you already have in the male pattern baldness area (crown and front) so taking propecia and rogaine is to retain the hair you still had that is susceptible to male pattern baldness.

I had to laugh at the idea that your doctor transplanted hair from the crown 1/2" inch from where he was transplanting it to because he didn't understand how hair works.laugh out loud

Yes but no.

Lebron has a bad transplant.
As for regrowth, it's possible and different for everyone with current methods. The more effective methods have higher rates of potential unwanted side effects and the regimens are time consuming. Most don't bother. Bezos certainly won't but it's possible to regrow.
