The stated footprint is 15' x 15'; however this doesn't account for guide rope locations. Pay more attention to camp site selections (multi-elevations, overall platform size, moveable fire pit/picnic table) because this tent is huge. I recommend a footprint of 17x17 minimum.
As with any tent, the stated measurements accommodates 3 queen sized mattresses; however that leaves little room for walking around and gear. We use one queen and two singles which then leaves us with plenty of storage area for fans, heaters, lanterns.
This really looks great for a long term family campsite. Plenty of room for gear and shelving in the middle. You just have to stick around to make the setup worthwhile.

Sand stakes and you'd be fine. Just open all the "windows" to provide wind flow.
So basically its a tent that doesnt function as one
