Do you have to unplug this from the USB-C port on the side of the Oculus to use a PC link cable? Or is there another port on the back of the Elite Strap that acts as a passthrough?

The port on the back of the elite strap is only for charging, so if you are trying to connect to a pc you do need to unplug the battery and use the side port.

Thanks, so would have to rely on Airlink then if wanting to play PC / Rift games. Do you know of a strap that does provide extended battery as well as USB PC Link?

I'm not aware of one, but I have this strap on my quest and use the oculus link cable when I'm using the PC, the cord is held out of the way and the link cable helps maintain the charge of the headset to the point that it has never run out of juice before I needed to stop playing. I use airlink the majority of the time though and the battery gets me a little over 2 hours on that, which is plenty.

It looks like the link cord won't give enough charge to charge the battery, but it also shouldn't drain it, or at the least only slightly. So yes it'd be annoying to have to unplug the extended battery to use it with your pc, but you also shouldn't need the extended battery to play with your pc.

I also find out that if I don't unplug the extended battery when the headset is off, the extended battery still discharges fairly quickly. It's kind of irritating to have to remember to unplug every time I'm done playing

Seems expensive when you can just buy a 10,000mah battery on Amazon and attach it to the side of the headset so you can enjoy extended playtime. Right?

Just using the $39 oculus elite head strap with a USB c cable and one of my many power bricks. I put it in my back pocket and the cord tucks nicely into the headset and stays behind me. Less weight on my head I suppose and hasn't been in the way at all.

Does your elite strap battery still slowly discharge even when unplug from the headset when fully off? I am experience discharge still but very little of it.
