anybody else question with the drought in CA as bad as it is, how they are able to grow, water, harvest, shell, season, roast, bag and transport a pound of almonds for 4-6 dollars?

That's easy. Slave labour. You never questioned how food is so cheap before now?

no it's not slave labor. it's all the free water that farms can pump at no cost. Almonds and other nuts are much more profitable when you can keep pumping from the ground with no consequences.

Also, I would stay away from these because they are most likely roasted/cooked with some very questionable oils. Better off buying raw and roasting yourself for health purposes.

Why did they have to add vegetable oils to the lightly salted one? How stupid can you be? Maybe that's why they're on sale.

For me, the S&S discount was on the wasabi and lightly salted. The dark chocolate is $1.50 off with no S&S requirement.

If you toast these in the oven for 10 minutes at 400° they are exquisite.
