Go ahead and negative mine too. doesnt change the truth.
The truth is that the Series S will play every next gen game that comes out to Xbox.
If you don't care about 4K (or already have a PS5), the Series S is more than fine, especially for the price.
People are still paying $350 for the Switch OLED with a slightly better screen on almost 5 year old hardware.
Microsoft been merged Xbox gift cards and Microsoft gift card to be used interchangeably. If you purchase either one it's credited to your account balance and can be used on the Xbox store page and Microsoft store.
Maybe 2 months ago there was no stock available for the S, so thinking that inventories (esp this year) were going to be depleted, I bought the All Access plan (0% interest, pay $25/month for 2 years for the console, and GamePass Ultimate).
I know, in hindisght this is a horrible deal, especially as I saw that the S stock actually got better closer to Christmas.
ANYway, I am already looking to boost storage bc the first game he downloaded already takes up almost half the total storage! WTH. So he can only play one or two games at a time? That's crazy IMO.
What should I do? Plunk down for an expansion drive or card or whatever, an external drive, or just try to upgrade to Xbox X since they now seem to be available as well?
We have no legacy Xbox discs so the lack of disc drive is not an issue FWIW. He plays on a 55" TV, so even the resolution difference is not that big of a deal...but the storage...ooof. Didn't really see that being such an immediate problem!
Thanks for any non-snarky advice.
I see you have GPU. You could stream the games from the cloud on GPU instead of downloading. Obviously, that doesn't help for games that aren't on GPU...

The one freaking time I just pulled the trigger instead of waiting and watching and doing a crap ton of research (mostly out of fear of inventory running out before Christmas).
Ah well, 1st world probs and all that. Poor kid only gets to play 2 games at a time on one of his two current gen consoles!!! Wahhhhh
We almost got "Living Box" and "TV Box" and "Immersion Box" and "Reality Box" and "Sensi Box" instead of Xbox One. Dark days. *shudder*
I agree, PS and PS2-5 is easy to follow. No way MS could have simply called it Xbox, then Xbox Two...

This is the newest console. Xbox Series S. You are thinking of the older Xbox one S. Keep up grandpa 😜
