No, this means rather than spend $300 on the console, you buy $300 of XBOX.com credits. With 15% off, your cost goes down to $255.

If you've got a cash back credit card, you could get a few more dollars off as well.

How do you ask the clerk? When I ask, they seem to not know what I am talking about. I guess the usual clientele do not buy these and ask for the percentage discount. Does the register automatically discount it?

Yes Automatic discount make sure ask for total before paying. Or show them the weekly AD page 2

One thing to note is that Game Stop only lets you use 2 gift cards online in a single transaction. They'll let you enter a third one at checkout, but then it will give an error that there are too many gift cards. This happened when I bought my Quest 2 over Black Friday. I don't believe there is a limit on number of gift cards if you actually go to a store.

Items are full price, the discount is on the gift cards. Calculate the price with tax, buy the gift card for that amount, you'll get 10% off when you buy the gift card. Then use the gift card to buy the full priced item.

Example:
