In addition to what others have said... the dual handles allow this to be gripped more easily with two hands, making it less strenuous to maneuver for someone who is elderly or has wrist problems.

This style can fit into a smaller oven because it doesn't have a handle. It is easier to center in a oven.

I've got a glass-top induction stove and use cast iron all the time.. just don't shake or slide the pan around - you'll scratch up the glass. Iron goes from zero to a bazillion degrees in about 10 seconds via induction though; I love it.

Good deal, just note that an 8" skillet or pan is pretty small. A 10" skillet is what most people think of when they think cast iron skillet.

Well for one, this would be a lot heavier than your typical non stick skillet. I like using non stick skillet for eggs. It is light weight and easier to maintain. Cast iron does not need to be washed but I find that searing meats leave a sticky residue that is hard to get rid of without actually washing it. And if you end up washing them, you have to apply another coat of vegetable oil. I have both in my kitchen. I have to say steaks are better cooked in cast iron skillets
