Is this Brightness: 130-150 cd/m2 (typical) right ? Don't usually monitor go around 300-400 ?

Other than that, I believe everything else is what I wanted for a monitor OLED/4k/120Hz.

Crazy specs.

Gigabyte's customer service is very hard to get it touch with the right person and take a long time to get back in touch with you. I sent an email last week and still have not heard back about a monitor joystick menu control that broke less than a year from buying it. Oh and the warranty the give with the screen requires you pay for shipping back to them for repair. And you can imagine what that cost for any screen. For my 34" ultra wide it's about $150….

When you setup HDR on a pc/monitor, do you have to switch HDR on and off for SDR vs HDR content when it plays?

It's holiday weeks. Customer services are getting flooded with request while having fewer people working on it. It's not only Gigabyte, many other companies face similar issues.

Yes, you need to manually do that, unless the software you're using has the ability to do so. I use MPC-BE for local Video file playback and if you use 3rd party renderer like madVR or MPC Video Renderer, they have a setting which enable them to turn Display HDR on from the Windows Display setting when you play a HDR video file. Otherwise, you need to do it manually.

I don't see a point of this other than the displayport input and auto on/off like a monitor (rather than a TV). Better to buy an LG OLED. It has a bigger offline presence and you would get service within your home, rather than ship this as mentioned by someone above.

Well for one reason, you need the latest Nvidia or AMD GPUs to be able to run LG OLED at 4k@120 which is due to HDMI 2.1. This has DP 1.4 so you can get that resolution setup on even older graphics cards while still having VRR.

KVM and USB ports are super helpful as well if you are planning to use this as a proper monitor.

Peak brightness on the LG CX is 600-700 depending on the model size. This has 800-900 so it's going to have a wider brightness range. As you say 400 is the industry standard minimum for good HDR so this is excellent (as you'd expect for this price!).

Good to see OLED started to enter the monitor market, not just TV. Hopefully we'll see reasonable priced 32" OLED next year. 4K should be the norm, 2K monitors would be obsolete in 2022.

Why? C1 or gtfo
This has monitor features such as auto on/off and auto input switching. Using the remote to turn on and off the monitor separately from the PC sucks.

Thanks, that's simple enough.

I went through a lot of trial and error trying to set up one of those bargain Vivobook OLEDs on Netflix. I thought that windows would be good enough to switch but I came to that conclusion - unless things changed.
