Great deal! I love PF.

WARNING: (edited)
The $39 annual fee is usually assessed on Jan 1. However, the terms of this deal push the date back. "Annual Membership Fee of $39.00 plus applicable taxes will be billed on or shortly after March 1st." Also, your first billing date is Feb 17. Talk to your gym before joining if you think you may cancel early, including to learn if a lead time is required to be effectively canceled.

Generally, PF is $10/mo if you only visit one location. Else $23/mo for the Black Club (in San Diego, anyway) if you want to roam between clubs and to be able to bring a guest any day (1 guest per day, no limit on days, do it daily). If you go to the gym with a family member, like my son and I; then it's like paying for 2 memberships but freedom to roam, which is great in urban areas with multiple PFs! Also, the Black Club gives other perks, including half price drinks, which makes a convenient $1 water bottle option if you forget yours.

Kinda curious how the gyms will be affected now that a lot of people have their own little gyms setup at home due to covid.

WARNING: The $39 annual fee is assessed on Jan 1. This deal expires on the 2nd. You'll be 100% certain you won't have an annual fee until next year if you wait until the 2nd (and probably tomorrow the 1st is fine). Check with your local PF. Signing up today on Dec 31 may incur the annual fee, which is different than "no enrollment fee."

Gym's around here in northern nj are still packed. I made my home gym during the shutdown but still have my gym membership.

I see their terms here, now that I clicked through a gym's Join Us link. They modified it for this promo. "Annual Membership Fee of $39.00 plus applicable taxes will be billed on or shortly after March 1st." Also, your first billing date is Feb 17.

So, they are giving new members here a chance to back out before being hit with the fee. However, ask your club before signing up what the policy is for canceling, as there may be a lead time required. If you think you may not stick with it, you want to understand that detail so you can be officially canceled before the annual fee hits.

edit: I will say though, I love PF gyms in my area. Fitness and health are a commitment, and consistency over motivation, always. It's a habit, and we do it because we're worth it. Moods and motivation swings can undermine us, but consistency saves us. 👍

Awesome thanks. I will ask them when I need to cancel to not get hit with the annual fee

Do they actually give you black club?

The few other gyms I've gone to have a special "insurance" level that doesn't have those types of benefits

Still, it's a great gym and nice to get the free month. It would be better to stick it out long term Wink (if it works for your needs)

Peloton is going into the dumpster with missed projections because--guess what?--people would rather go to the gym than stay home.
Also, $40/month for streaming workout is pretty damn expensive.

If it were 15-20 they would have kept a lot more people.

They're going into the dumpster because - guess what? - people want a treadmill that won't kill their child, doesn't cost $40 a month for basic functions, and doesn't have an outrageously high initial hardware cost.

It has nothing to do with people not wanting home workout equipment and everything to do with their awful business practices.
