I know this deal on the free iPhone SE for new customers has been posted, but I don't think many people know about the free upgrade for existing customers with older 3G incompatible phones.

Cricket/AT&T networks are turning off 3G service in February 2022, making many phones incompatible. If you are receiving texts from Cricket saying your phone is incompatible, you are eligible for a free iPhone SE (or Moto G Stylus 5G) upgrade. This deal will work for all lines on your account that are receiving the Cricket message about incompatible phones.

When you upgrade a line through the website you will see the iPhone price of $249.99. Click to proceed to checkout, and before placing the order you will see "3G $249.99 Targeted Offer-Mfg/Dist Coupon - $249.99", making the phone free.

I was told by the Cricket store owner that this deal should be good until Jan 6th.

I am on a grandfathered plan 5 lines for $100, 2 IP6 and 2 SE, one LG Optimus L70. LG was the only one has the upgrade button available which I select and able to get the SE for free, no additional charges.

Long-time Cricket customer that currently has been using a Poco X3 NFC on the network fine for awhile now. But I have been getting the notices.

1) What are the chances my phone will work after the deadline? My phone is currently not-supported anyways, but has always worked.
2) What strings would be attached if I grab the "free" iPhone SE promo and switch to Mint Mobile or another service without ever activating the iPhone?

They are moving to VOLTE. If your phone does not support voice over LTE, you won't be able to make calls.

The phone is locked to cricket and needs to be on the cricket network for six months before they will unlock it at which point you can use it on other networks

Poco X3 does support VoLTE and currently shows that option ENABLED on my Cricket SIM. Was more curious how jerk-ish Cricket might be with phones that don't make it on their approved list. And maybe we won't know that answer until the deadline.

No it does not. It's simply that "VoLTE Carrier check" was disabled so your "enabled" is really fake. Poco X3 doesn't even have all the AT&T LTE bands to begin.

Any phone that's not in this list is consider "not whitelisted".

I ordered a new phone for an existing line with this deal yesterday: total $0.00.
At 2:00 AM I got an email saying the order is delayed due to a shipping issue.
When I try to order a phone for another line that is qualified with this deal I get the following error message:

Activate Your Other Line First, Please
You have another line that hasn't been activated yet. Activate now, so you can add a new line or upgrade your phone. Activate line >

I'm stumped. Do you know what happened and how I can get a second qualified line's phone ordered?
