Been eyeing this saw for a while.
nice deal but still hard to justify the 18v surgeon.
too many cons to the price.
1) weight (on a cordless saw)
2) 18v power, having to slow down the cut
3) not heavy in the bosch system. would have to get more 8.0 and 12.0s
4) no shadow line... using lasers...
I could be tempted if it dropped under $500
Currently using the makita 18V x2, and it's a beast of a saw but needs two upgrades:
1) shadow line
2) weight

The mskita is great! But the Surgeon is ridiculously amazing... if you ever use one, you will know right away as to the difference.
The only downfall with these cordless sliders is that they do not have the option to use a cord when you can. I'm iften working in my shop, so a cord is fine. But when I'm not near an outlet elsewhere, the battery is great as an option.
You will want to eventually get on the profactor platform... the 8ah and 12ah for their better tools will get a huge boost this year as new tools arrive from Bosch.
Bosch has impressed me like crazy these past 2 years. But like all tool brands, there's good and bad tools. The Surgeon is great.
And it has excellent dust collection for a slider.
Shadow lines are nice, but I never used it with the Dewalt as I used predetermined stop blocks on my fences to set my depth in advance. Once it's all calibrated, a cut line becomes pointless.
But... if you have the makita 36v ... I see no reason to upgrade unless you actually have to.
