That used to be the law until it was overturned by the Supreme Court in 2018 (South Dakota v. Wayfair). Now states can require any retailer that has a minimum amount of sales in that state to collect tax. All states that collect sales tax have those laws now.

THEY essentially pay the tax FOR you because you have their Payboo credit card (Which they are making money on that goes to pay your taxes)... No scam, just a different angle.. I used them exclusively in the past when they were one of the few that legally didn't charge tax before the gov stepped in and made it a law that all businesses including eBay now have to report your purchases to the gov so they can be taxed

By law, a retailer only has to collect sales tax from a customer if the retailer has a physical presence in the customer's state.

Some shady things going on at B&H with these cameras. Ordered 2 of these cameras back in August. They arrived in a brown B&H box. Both cameras had BestBuy shipping labels on the ring boxes. Funny thing was that they both were shipped to the same address from BBY. Two different names & apartment numbers. Well, that's very strange. Why would 2 different people living in an apartment building need wired floodlight cams? Googled the address & it's a private home. Then I opened up the cameras & they appeared to be used. The wires were a mess & the clear protective stickers on the camera were missing. It took a few weeks for B&H to exchange the units.
Buyer be where. Inspect your order as soon as it arrives.
