Gonna go against the grain here but my experience with this mug was terrible. The mug would only connect if I repaired it every single time I wanted to use it.I have an Android phone and from what I have read from reviews it plays nicely with Apple not so much with Android, which was my case. The battery life sucked. If I just left the phone on I would watch the battery drop 5-10% in five minutes time not doing anything. I tried putting half cup of lukewarm water in it and heating it up to 145 degrees . It couldn't do it. It stayed around 110 for over 30 minutes and the battery dropped over 50% during that time. Contacted customer support. They told me to pour something in that was 165 degrees and see if that works. Well yeah. It's gonna seem like it works because I am putting something in that is 20 degrees hotter. I did it. Still didn't work. The worst part is I sent 3 different emails back and they ignored every one. They don't have phone support either.. I probably would give another one a crack, but after they ignored me and I spent $100+ on a coffee mug, I'm done. Returned it. Sucks too because I really wanted this to work. Just my experience.

Isn't it cheaper to make another cup or use one of the cheaper heaters, $100 after tax price seems ridiculous to me.

Bought one for the wife for Christmas and just ordered this for myself. It's completely unnecessary and a frivolous bougie expense.

However, it works perfectly and is incredible.

Did have some issues updating the firmware (for a coffee mug..
I know) but got it to work eventually by hitting the power button on the mug when it hangs at 50% trying to reconnect.

🤷

Well obviously it's cheaper. Do you need premium sound in your car(or insert a luxury item here)? No, but it's okay to like nice things.

It's cool and it works incredibly well.

After day one of using it while keeping the one year old occupied with me returning to my room temperature coffee and then sipping my wife's perfect temperature coffee I craved one. You can chase the the temperature in the microwave or just bite the bullet for perfection.

This comes up every time there is a sale on this.

I had one of the ceramic ones for years and had to toss it. One time I left it on (accidents happen) and my headphones fell onto it. Could have been a bigger issue had I not smelled it.

This version is children safe.

In summary: I wouldn't use the cheapo models

Got one for my wife this Christmas. She thought it was ridiculous at first, but as a slow coffee drinker she loves it. She got used to drinking cold coffee, or microwaving it and getting it to a random temperature. Since then she has fiddled with it to get to the exact temperature she likes and has really enjoyed it. Expensive, but if it's something used daily it has value. She does appreciate the last couple ounces being the same temp as the first couple.

Have owned one for the past year. There's only two things you need to know (and they are precisely the two things you will read over, and over, and over, in reviews).

1. You don't need it but it will become one of your absolute favorite purchases.

2. No matter how careful you are with it, the ceramic coating will chip on the bottom as a function of constant reheating. Thankfully it's easy enough to live with.

This kind of mug has to be priced lower than $49.99, sane people would consider buying it.

Clearly they're selling well enough not to have to reduce the price…

I don't think it's meant to heat up water, that would require a significant amount of energy
I don't ever pair mine, it is already set to the temperature we need and have not connected it to the phone since.
