The fee might also be waived for AAA members.

Check your health insurance. Some provide this service for FREE. Cigna, BC/BS 365, etc.
Also, Ambetter Insurance provides link to Active & Fit website if you don't have USAA

***USAA was free to sign up - you won't get the Insurance or other perks unless you are Military***

This is such a weird program. They'll charge you $25 a month for gyms that actually cost less than $25/month, and you only get to go to the one gym.

You can go to all of them on the list not just one.

Not true, at least for me. I had no issue signing up for both Anytime Fitness and LA Fitness through this program.

Those both would have cost me ~60-70$ a month, plus I avoid their annual "enhancement" fees.

It actually seems like a better deal. Those under $25 places like Planet Fitness add in all kinds of additional fees that make it more expensive in the end, plus they hold your bank account hostage. With this, you pay Active&Fit. Last I heard, if you get it for Planet Fitness, you are supposed to receive the Black Card membership, but not sure if that is still the case. And you can have accounts at multiple gyms at the same time with this program. I've avoided gyms since Covid, but this program is mighty tempting.

I was more interested in something like Blink, which costs as little as $10 a month and *doesn't* do the whole bank-account-required thing.

Never heard of Blink, but seems no different than Planet. The $9.99 plan has a $56.99 yearly fee, making it closer to $15 a month, but then you are stuck using only one location.

Blink doesn't have a yearly fee and lets you pay by credit card. That makes it sound like it would be quite different from Planet Fitness.

But if you sign up for Blink through Active & Fit, then the $10 Blink plan costs $25/mo.

Right from Blink's website (unless the policies of their locations vary that greatly?) '12-month agreement.

$56.99 annual maintenance fee is charged on the 3rd day of the 2nd month after joining.'

Huh. Well look at that - you're completely right, and it looks like I have some crow to eat.
