Welcome to the official SD Coca-Cola.com/offers / Formerly My Coke Rewards Discussion Thread, proud to talk rewards since 2006! (We often discuss Coke promotions, (texting games, sweepstakes, etc.), which use Coke/MCR/codes or membership info to signup.)

The promotions continue:

Check the +one app for promos

Site: https://us.coca-cola.com/plusone

Scroll to the 2nd Wiki for Coke AMOE links!

A toast to My Coke Rewards, the Greatest Rewards Program in History! Applause

Coca-Cola.com Offers FAQ, (Formerly My Coke Rewards [MCR]):

- How may I contact them?- When does the promotion end?

There is no specific end date for the program.

- Inactivity

Each particular Coke promotion may have its own activity clause.

- Participating Products:
Barq's, Coke, Coke Zero, Dasani, Diet Coke, Fanta, Fresca, Mellow Yellow, Minute Maid Lemonade, Pibb, Sprite, Seagram's, Tab. (Powerade & Zero & Minute Maid Juices in the big black caps no longer have UTC codes.)

- Values:
Point values per code are no more, All codes are equal value, but check promotion. Check packaging for a MyCokeRewards Label! Not all Coke packages have the MCR logo, (i.e. 6-pack w/glass bottles).
However, in Coke's Give Program to schools, codes still have different values to school donations, see wiki below!

- List of Accepted MCR Letter & Number Code Characters & Character Substition

There are 25 total characters, (letters or numbers only), that are accepted in 14-character MCR codes, (out of 36 available, A-Z, and 1-0). Five of the characters may also be input as substitutions for other similar-looking characters. Either upper- or lower-case letters are accepted. The available characters are:

Letters: B F H J K L M N P R T V W X (No C D E G* I O* Q S* U* Y Z)
Numbers: 4 5 6 7 9 0 (No 1 2 3 8*)

* The five accepted substitute characters for similar-looking characters:
  • B = 8
  • V = U
  • 5 = S
  • 6 = G
  • 0 = O (Zero, '0', is the officially accepted character according to MCR error messages; letter 'O' is the substitute.)

- Where do you find all the codes?
Here are a few ways...
- drink soda
- participate/lurk on this board
- ask friends/family/neighbors/co-workers to save
- dumpster diving
- jumping out of cars upon seeing flaps on the side of the road
- referring a friend on the site
- ask Maids to save for those who travel
- ask recycling centers to save
- purchase on eBay
- sporting events, zoos, parks, etc
- make trades
- become buddies with vending machine stockers
- become the vending machine stocker

That's why I don't like this new Coke Rewards -

It was BEST when you entered caps for points and were Guaranteed to redeem for the reward you wanted

Boy, I wish they would bring back those days . . . .

I have a whole large box of caps & box codes, probably around 2000 codes.

I have done the donation stuff some, I keep waiting for them to drop codes on products before I give up keeping them. If they ever do straight to the recycle center they go.

I've come around to preferring the new contest/lottery system -- even w/ its new issues (and they are varied) it seems more people have won more prizes for far less bookkeeping.

I took pics of codes I had, recycled the cardboard, and plastic covers, but had to trash the caps themselves, ~ 3 years ago: all recyclers I called at the time wouldn't take them either due their type of plastic, or due the gasket/lining on the inside. Perhaps recycling technology has improved since.

BTW once you have a setup/flow going, you can take a pic of a cap in 2-3 seconds; you could process all yours in well under 2 hours.

I still harvest caps but not with the vigor that I once did - my brain is programmed to see the caps as valuable so I can't pass them up. Lately I've been entering them and donating to individual schools but I still have thousands of caps to process. I used to be really fast at entering codes but I'm out of practice now so I'm much slower plus my eyesight isn't what it used to be.

That said, I don't mind the new Coke system for contests. Like anything else, it has evolved. I don't understand why they are still printing the codes on 12-packs and bottle caps. It would be nice if codes were ever used for something again other than donations but I'm not counting on that.

I too have wondered about that. It can't be just to keep the donation-program alive. I assume it's because bottling facilities still printing codes haven't reached viable end-of-life when they could be switched out, and code-printing can't be turned off without affecting manufacturing timing. (Yes, I myself see potential holes in that theory, but it's the best I got Smilie )

so, Coke prints codes, gets you to enter the codes, then takes a write-off for "their" donation. That's my 2cents.

Why is "their" in quotes? everything literally comes from Coke in this scenario. Haha. You didn't pay a cent.

You know when companies ask if you want to round up at the register? THAT'S the real shady business. They take YOUR money and claim it as their own charitable donation.

I do see your view, but I look at it differently: somebody has just given me $1 to give to a charity of my choice; I do so, and feel good about it (which is a real and valuable feeling); that is my "benefit"; the somebody who gave me that $1 claims they gave me that $1 (which is also correct and true). I don't need this to be a zero-sum game wherein only 1 person can win and everybody else should lose Smilie

I haven't looked into this, and am curious : are you sure those companies get a tax benefit for the entirety of the money thus collected? I had assumed only for part of it, the part that goes toward implementing-maintaining-accounting for the rounding-up (perhaps padded a bit).

Addendum: here's an article addressing exactly this issue, the belief that stores inviting customers to round up their tab are claiming it to the store's tax benefit (TLDR, apparently that belief is patently incorrect). If there's more to the story, and you do know for a fact that such tax-claiming is standard practice, do tell. https://www.taxpolicycenter.org/t...onations-0

Re: taxes -- I'm honestly not sure. I wasn't necessarily using "claim" in a tax sense, but at the very least, it allows them to brag and take credit and earn corporate goodwill off the backs of their customers. The Coke caps, are a much better way of doing it, since they're not taking extra from their customers in order to earn that goodwill. In that sense, their corporate goodwill is more legitimately earned, I'd say. Haha.

Like, if "rounding up" is the big fuzzy feel-good idea, why doesn't Walmart (or whoever) just take the extra change from every receipt and donate THAT to charity, instead of asking YOU to do it? I'm all about donating, I just don't think that's a great way to do it.

Best I know they don't -- not to the government in their tax reporting, and not to anybody else either :]

Hmm, we're definitely seeing things differently here: a "rounding up cents" type of giving is for small-fry like us, or at least like me, whose charitable contributions are measured on that scale. It's a "painless" way for individuals of my demographic to give to charity, and due sheer numbers, it adds up. Stores that do this are simply making an opportunity for church mice like me to donate.

High net worth individuals, and certainly corporations, use other mechanisms of gicing: walmart's big fuzzy feel good idea for itself, for instance, is community-based giving, and theitr 2022 charitable donation to it was ~ $1.5 billion.

If it makes any of us feel better we could advise them to claim they came up with that number by rounding up cents on their sales registers :-D

Except, a statista blurb says "In fiscal year 2022, there were approximately 230 million customer visits each week to Walmart stores throughout the world". As a napkin calculation that makes 11.9 billion customer visits for the year; if we assume _all_ of them bought something, and _all_ of them contributed the max rounding amount, 9c, i.e. rounding up to the next multiple of 10c, that still comes out to only $1.1 billion Smilie

(If I'm missing something obvious I must be just extra-slow today, sorry :} )

sidenote: here's a decent comparision between a million and a billion: a million seconds after conception (that's just conception, not even birth) you're still just a tiny cluster of cells ~ 10 days old; a billion seconds after conception, you're ~ 32 _years_ old :-)

We can create folders in the PM area. But I can find no way to move a PM from sent or inbox to a created folder. How do that?

I have two $5 Targets. can I use them both in one online transaction?

Email says this: "To redeem your Target eGiftCard at Target.com:
1. Enter your Target eGiftCard number and access number when checking out
2. Your eGiftCard will be automatically applied."

So after entering one does checkout give place to add another?

Yes, you can use multiple gift cards in 1 Target transaction.

As far as I know Target requires you to create an account to be able to check out online (i.e. they don't do "guest checkout"). Once you create your account you can add multiple gift cards to it (there's a "gift cards" option in the sign-in menu), then use that gift card balance to pay for your chekout.

As a heads up, the first gift card you add to your account becomes the "primary" card. Additional cards can be added as independent cards (but you probably wouldn't want to), or can be added so that they add to the value of the primary card (which is what you'd want). If you mistakenly add several cards as independent cards, it's still possible to "combine" them after the fact, so don't be too worried about having at it Smilie

As far as I know one cannot move a message from Sent to a custom folder.

However messages can be moved between Inbox and custom folders. See attached pic for steps:

- let's say we've already created a custom folder called "foo", and we want to move messages from Inbox to foo
- go Inbox; use checkboxes at right to select messages to move (you can also select all messages by clicking the checkbox above all the messages, but that's just a nicety)
- click the dropdown above the messages (see pic), and select "Move to folder"
- in the popup that appears, select the folder to move to, then click Move Items
