Thanks always good to save even if it's only for 20 gallons. I really hope they increase the 20 gallon limit. Wish it was 35 or 40 gallons with these promotions. They increased the gold/silver limit from the 20 gallons that used to be. Even then I used to just hit the 20 gallon limit, replace the nozzle, redo cc, and fill finish filling up. Unfortunately with promos you don't get to use it multiple times.

Jeez, the lowest Shell gas near me is still $0.60 more per gallon than my gas station of choice, $4.75 vs $4.15. This is not very slick for me.

I swear it was 25c just to be a member, back when Fuel Rewards originally started YEARS ago.
Back in 2019 when the shell relationship started, the first time around the codes were 25c and they stacked. It was amazing, got free gas. Then they wised up after that first time and prevented stacking, but it was still 25c.. The frequency became like once every month or so. Then they made it 10c every few weeks and then 10c permanent. Now it's 5c.

From my estimation (300m people, 33% shell station US population coverage, 90% of houses have cars, 25% of tmobile users use T-Mobile Tuesdays = 7.5m users, average weekly fill-up among all users is 7 gallons... wild wild estimations) at 10c it cost TMobile around $270m each year. Now it's only going to cost them $135m.

The only thing i hate about T-Mobile is that they sugarcoat their obvious NEGATIVE changes to popular programs. With shell it's "oh it's 10c because we are giving you 5c plus unlimited gold status". Hey genius, even if you don't have gold you get 3c off. We regular users already have gold. So for gold users we lose 5c on this change. For regular non gold users, we lose 3c.

When they changed Tmobile money 4% requirements from being $200 in deposits to 10 debit card transactions they sugarcoated it all like "oh we are making it easier, just use your debit card 10 times". Bitch, doing a $200 monthly transfer is so much more easier than 10 debit card transactions.

laugh out loud I've seen that "easier" line of crap used before when promotions get cut back. Sadly good deals come and go. But yeah, I'd have more respect for them if they'd just be honest and say it's not sustainable so they're having to adjust.

Right now, the Shells near me have refused to drop their price the past couple of months and are 60c higher than a nearby Mobil, so none of it is enticing to me at the moment.

Add me to the list of people unable to link accounts. I've tried 427+10 digit phone number and keep getting 'invalid card'. Unable to find my Speed Perks number anywhere on the AAP account page. I've been using Speed Perks for years, and in my account at Advance it clearly shows the same 10 digit number.

Edit - I was able to get my Speed Perks number from a live chat session on the AAP website. In my case it had nothing to do with my phone number - it was a sixteen digit number that I then pasted (successfully) onto the Fuel Rewards page (with no leading 427). Interestingly, after linking the Sped Perks account with Fuel Rewards, it -does- display the ten digit phone number as my account number at Fuel Rewards.

Before I buy overpriced Shell gas, how do we know after linking whether or not this offer is in our account?

Winn Dixie ended their fuelperks program years ago.
Yep, they did, back in 2017, and they joined the Plenti Rewards program. Then, AMEX shut down Plenti later that year, and Winn Dixie immediately revamped their Fuel Perks program and called it a "Rewards" program. Only real difference is you now get to choose if you want to redeem rewards in store towards groceries, or at the pump via Fuel Rewards program: https://www.segrewards.com/
Grocery Rewards (points) are transferred to Fuel Rewards at 5¢/gal increments for every 100 points you redeem.

Edited to say that someone else in this thread pointed out that their Grocery Rewards stopped transferring to Fuel Rewards a few months ago. I don't shop at Winn Dixie often nor do I guy gas at Shell often, so I can't say the last time it worked for me. Definitely did sometime in 2021, but not sure when specifically.

Even with the extra quarter, they're still light years ahead of everyone else on price lol. I got one by me that's like $0.80 more expensive than the average. Shocker, he never had anyone at his pumps when I drive by. He does get store traffic though, so maybe the prices inside aren't as bad as at the pumps. That's on Long Island, that is. Might be more palatable in other regions.

If anyone lives near a Sam's Club, another deal currently posted is for a 1 year Sam's membership for net price of $5. Looking on a gas price comparison app, Sam's/Costco are $0.60/cheaper than Shell every day of the week. Even after the $5 Sam's membership, you come out cheaper than this Fuel Rewards deal in just one fill up (assuming 20 gallons). Assuming you take advantage of all 20 gallons this offer applies to, it saves $5 on one occasion. The Sam's option saves you $12-$5 on the first fill up, and then $12 every tank of gas after that.
