Using GameStop PUR $5 certificates on digital currency was a popular slick deal, turning a $15 membership into a $45 profit.
Effective immediately, $5 monthly reward certificates are no longer applicable to digital currency. I just tried to use it in store and was told it no longer works and I have linked a post from someone posting the internal memo.
Hopefully this PSA can save people some gas or rile up some protests from customers to change their policy.

This one worked for me, i had to buy $1 preowned game to pickup in store to checkout, can't checkout with $0.
Like see in description it should say "
Price shown is for currency to be used in your Microsoft account. Sales tax is not included. At redemption, state and local taxes may apply based on the address of the Microsoft account of the redeeming party."
Only those will work

It costs $5.49 so would only end up 49 cents after purchase but would it also give Microsoft credit rather than the actual "battle packs"?
EDIT-I took the plunge. It does NOT work. If The Crew works stick with that.
Yes, they absolutely DO! They verify the price and then scan a page in their promo guide to do the override.

Seconding the price match policy for their own website, at retail store. It is a process. If you have an employee that doesn't know how to do it, or a manager that doesn't like you, then you're SOL.
In my instance, the manager did a price match, but "accidentally" added in 0.99. This was a random GameStop I went to, so I'm not a regular there.
Good luck to any price matchers out there
I purchase digital games almost exclusively, which is why I like trading for currency. I made the mistake of purchasing Battlefield 2042 digital copy through gamestop, and now I find out they have a no returns policy on digital products. If I had purchased it through the xbox store, I could have returned it for being broken garbage.
Funny that they have a paper right on the counter where the register is telling you the benefits of the pro program.
It says $5 off digital currencies
Hopefully they don't get rid of the deal starting February.

You wouldn't happen to know the SKU or PLU or whatever they use to search? The guy flipped his screen to me and $5 was clearly not among the choices. They started at $10 from what he showed me
