Do yourself a favor, get the one with magnetic resistance. I have the magnetic model, and the fact that it's not constantly touching the resistance is very nice. For $70, it is worth it. I bought my girlfriend the Bowflex one, but based on this picture I should have saved the $500 just bought her some implants.

Thank you so much for this recommendation. I didn't even know to look for something with magnetic resistance but that makes sense.

I don't think it's leather if it stinks.

I'm looking for a bike that's can be pretty challenging and really allow me to push myself. Anyone know if this bike has solid resistance levels and allows for the rider to really go fast?

Just like the reply earlier, buy the one with magnetic resistance. I have one of the rubber belt resistance, and I can't ride them anymore because the belt worn out and it doesn't create any resistance anymore. I think rubber belt should be fine for couple of years though. But if you ride it really fast at high resistance, the heat will make the belt worn out faster I think.

So can someone lay out in easy to understand terms why spend $75 more on the magnetic wheel version? And is that the best option or does that company sell other models as well? Thanks.

Or buy a flexible tablet stand and wahoo sensors makes for a great indoor bike that tracks speed and cadence for those on a budget

The bike in this deal does not have a tablet stand (AFAIK) not does it have a monitor for HR/speed/cadence. The one I linked above includes a tablet stand and the little monitor.

Honestly, I don't look at the little monitor much. I installed a knockoff wahoo (it was like $20) to use in the peloton app so the data is saved. I also use an Apple TV to watch the classes, but an iPad would work fine.

So, by paying the extra $70, you get a far better resistance system that doesn't require all the regular maintenance that pads need, the tablet stand, and the HR/cadence monitor. I would say the upgrade to magnetic resistance is more than worth the extra $, but not having the tablet stand would be a real PITA.

I dunno, you'll pay $20 for the tablet stand and still end up with a bike that requires a lot more maintenance and will probably end up in the landfill when the pads break down. Plus it's noisier.
