My boyfriend is obsessed with the good ice. We found, for us, it was more economical just to buy bags of ice at chick-fil-a. They are $1.59/bag. Most of the time, it's just him at home so he only goes through about two bags of ice per week.
If you choose to buy this, I would strongly recommend buying the warranty because these ice machines are notoriously unreliable and short-lived.

Hesitant to give them another chance, but the ice was great while it worked, but $500 for a years worth of ice was ridiculous.
Does anyone know what the return process is through the all-state/citi warranty? Can I still just take it back to Costco in year 4 or 7 or do I have to go a different route through all-state and another route through Citi, where I have to pay for shipping (these suckers are very heavy)? When I wanted to send my first one back to Opal for repairs out of warranty the shipping alone was $150. The shipping and repairs was basically the same as the purchase price so I said forget it.
EDIT: I just spoke with Costco chat, and was told this was eligible for lifetime returns. Not sure if they were correct. I saved the chat log, can I use that to return to Costco when (not if) it breaks?
