Why cover burgers? Won't it turn into a meatball?

Yes, had them for over 15 years, not sure if these are the same quality as back then, but I did check them out in store and they are not as heavy as 15 years ago, but they are a great set for thos price, I paid much much more and got more pieces, but without glass tops, so go fir it.

Layer metal with disk at bottom can't distribute heat steadily and evenly as good as fully clad.

We bought one and it was average quality. The Teflon coating started coming off after 6 months. We used it twice a week.

Agree 100%. These kinds of pans utterly suck at keeping things from sticking to the sides. At least with triple ply the sides get just as hot, and therefore things don't stick. But with these the sides will be drastically colder, leaving pretty much everything to stick. If I could only afford $80 for cookware I'd spend $60 on a 10" triple-ply stainless pan, $15 for a cast iron pan, and $5 on a cheap stockpot from Goodwill.

Don't fall for these. They are flimsy and the nonstick coat is a joke.

As someone who cooks every day, these type of pans (thick bottom thin sides) are horrible. I have 1 pot of this design and use it only to boil pasta or potatoes, that's it.
All-Clad are great but cost big $$$. For the money the best pans are the Kirkland Signature 10-piece 5-ply Clad Stainless Steel Cookware set from Costco. Heavy as can be and work very well. Considering the $200 ($180 on sale) price they are a steal.

They're basically the "disc" bottoms, which are cheaper to produce but the sides and the bottom won't be at the same temperature.
