They're basically the "disc" bottoms, which are cheaper to produce but the sides and the bottom won't be at the same temperature.

Every person who comes to my house stuffs my teflon Belgique $600 pan set into the dishwasher... they are pretty screwed up now. It doesn't matter if you tell people they can't go in there... they don't care.
Today I got fed up... my pots metal layers are literally peeling from people abusing them (they were fine until people started ignoring the directions)... this is a perfect replacement. I shouldn't have to worry about people ruining my quality stuff with a comment "they're just pots. I do it to mine.." They don't mention their set was $40 from family dollar.

I look forward to getting the new set.
